There's a one line code that we used to set that track (because Famicom Medley is awesome). You can change the last four digits of it to use any track in Brawl
I have no experience with coding at all, or what codes do what so I wouldn't know which line to change/what to change it to and I don't want to accidentally change a wrong line of coding.

Would you mind telling me?

He did just tell you.

You just want the work done for you without effort.

First, get Code Manager.

Next, open the RSBE01.txt

I'm GUESSING the code is titled.
There is a difference between asking for help and asking for someone to do something for you. Like I said before, I no experience with code sets so I haven't the slightest clue what to look for.

There's a one line code that we used to set that track
There is well over 1,000 lines of coding.

The trophy gallery theme is a pretty logical choice as an alternative wifi stage theme. It's a remix of the main theme (neutrality), it's relaxing (for wifi bs) and has a long loop. A lot nicer than an annoying collage of 8-bit songs, imo. :lick:

You could just replace the Famicom Medley with file replacement instead. It's Q01.

I didn't realize that the Famicom Melody was an actual song in the game, I thought they had added it just as a song to replace the WiFi Waiting Room music. If I had know that I would of done that a long time ago. Now I feel silly. :chuckle:

I just tested it and it works, Thanks. :)

Here's my data. It is by no means definitive, it is just a random sampling of total observed matchup results of every match I saw at the tourney. If I saw a Mario beat a Luigi, Mario has a win against Luigi. If I see another Mario beat a Luigi, nothing changes. If I see a Luigi beat a Mario, then Luigi also has a win against Mario.

This methodology has many shortfalls; it does not take into account player skill, and focused not only on the players at the tourney but also to some extent the ones closer in proximity to me. (For example, a lot of players at this tourney with low skill levels were playing Sheik/Zelda and ROB, while Sethalon was ensuring wins for Falco.) It was also taken mostly during pools, when play is often sub-optimal. I stopped taking notes when I started doing a lot of friendlies myself at the end too. (For example, these matches has a lot of wins for Lucas, DDD, Jigglypuff, and PT which are not represented in the data.)

Still, the idea is that this sampling is the maximum amount of data I could collect from a central position in the room watching all setups.

Observed Matchup Wins and Losses by Character: (DITTOS NOT COUNTED)

Mario: 3/3
Luigi: 7/3
Peach: 1/6
Bowser: 4/0
Donkey Kong: 0/0
Diddy Kong: 7/2
Yoshi: 3/2
Wario: 3/3
Link: 2/0
Zelda: 3/10 (Includes Sheik)
Ganondorf: 9/5
Toon Link: 13/8
Samus: 4/5
Zero Suit Samus: 0/1
Pit: 6/4
ICs: 0/1
R.O.B.: 0/5
Kirby: 7/6
Meta Knight: 8/4
King Dedede: 0/5
Olimar: 6/4
Fox: 0/2
Falco: 11/10
Wolf: 7/2
Captain Falcon: 4/3
Pikachu: 3/7
Pokemon Trainer: 3/7
Lucario: 5/8
Jigglypuff: 4/3
Marth: 3/8
Ike: 7/6
Ness: 5/3
Lucas: 9/11
Mr. Game & Watch: 7/6
Snake: 8/10
Sonic: 0/0

Again, take these numbers with a grain of salt. I'm just making the data available, consider it responsibly.

Like if anyone tries to say Bowser is overpowered when the only person playing Bowser was me against players not as good as me, they are stupid.

Conversely if anyone tries to say DDD is underpowered when not a single DDD main was at this tourney and he was still winning a majority of the friendlies he was in, they are stupid.

Finally, not my fault no one in Texas plays DK, ZSS, Bowser, Fox, or Sonic. Espy needs to come to NO KOAST!

Well, you're gonna look pretty stupid then when I challenge Lain to a $1 MM and offer him $20 to throw it. :bee:

I wonder if Yoshi had any major changes? (Sorry I can't read the damage thing)
k, his Dsmash was buffed so that it can kill.

Tilts were buffed to do alot of damage, but less KB (comboes)

Fair was buffed so that if you sweetspot it, it acts like DK's side B and "grounds" opponentns for a kill.

Egg Roll does NOT MAKE YOU FREE FALL and REFRESHES YOUR SECOND JUMP

in other words, Yoshi is High tier :p

I know what you're talking about, I tried play it the other day, but I don't use to...
Yoshi is pretty comfort to play with:
trading hits is pretty easy, and Yoshi will live at ridiculous high %s;
also, tilt-combo'ing your opponents somehow can make them lose their minds
now, he's a guy to fear...

in other thread, I personally think Samus' buffs can be TOO MUCH:
due to she's heavier, she's harder to kill upwards (and then, my friend use to bombspam... which is annoying...);
and her Dtilt was already good, maybe increasing its knockback is way too much. (or my friend is TOO good for me...)

In much the same vein, I've been feeling that Mario's knockback buffs might be a little too good. He already racks up damage and combos well, so having 3/4 ridiculously powerful and fast kill moves is rather pushing it.

Sorry for the noobish question, but do you have to repeat steps 2-4 (excluding removing stages) to play BB every time you boot Brawl?

yup, otherwise, you'll load regular brawl

EDIT: I really need to be more careful with having my signature "on"....

So as long as the SD card isn't in, or as long as I don't start BB from the stage builder, I'll be playing regular Brawl?
that's right!...
although, I'm not sure when is the right moment to remove the SD card by using the Stage Builder method... =S (I use gecko...)

Most of the GCT's have Phantom Wings on, allowing you to keep the SD card in.

In response to the "Discussion" going on, I think Samus is fine now. Her power missiles aren't over done, bombs aren't groundbreaking still, dtilt is still good, but not the easiest thing in the world to hit with, and if you do hit with it, unless stale, isn't the hardest thing in the world to DI.

Mario, this guy kills so early now, it's amazing. Top ten easily.

The only person I have any sort of issue with is...Well, no one really. Everyone seems to have their downfalls to make them balanced with the rest of the roster.

Mario seems to be the one who is a SMALL TINY bit overdone, thats really it.

The main thing about Mario is that he still clearly loses to G&W and Marth from what I can tell.

All that really needs to be done to balance this game is that various lesser characters need improvements to more fundamental problems with speed/safety. The reason why Mario is so good is because he never really had problems with speed/safety, but lacked reward (KO power) on his movepool.

In my honest opinion and personal experience against a good player, I think a good Samus is scarier than Mario. Samus has a camp game that can be very difficult to break. Her out of shield options are very solid. Also, her KO moves really are not exactly hard to land. She can combo into several of them with a little bit of smart play. Her Down-angled F-smash is quite possibly the most terrifying KO move in this game. Her improved throws can kill you in the 140s at the edge, which makes approaching her all the more risky.

Samus seriously has everything you could want, and she can do everything extremely well. She has great projectiles, really good shield pressure tools, and great KO moves that have decent power and great safety and applications. Her only real weaknesses in BBrawl are being pretty floaty and easy to juggle, lacking a good approach, and her roll dodge being bad. Her shieldgrab is also kinda suck, but that doesn't really matter when she already has too many good out of shield options.

Well then A2, why don't you suggest some changes to said ''bad characters''

No.

There will be no changes until 2010. The developers won't even start thinking about changes for a couple months. There is nothing productive about continuing to suggest what characters should have gotten.

I noticed you're back Thinkaman, and I don't know if you caught some of my earlier posts, but I was wondering your opinion on Captain Falcon.

Just wondering what you think is a decent strategy against very defensive and campy opponents. I know matchups like that are technically still winnable, but I wouldn't consider them anywhere close to 40:60 (which I know is the targeted minimum for all the matchups in BBrawl).

Come now, how often do you really get your shield broken against Marth or anyone? This is being silly.

Also, I'm not ignoring any posts, but responding to everyone is just unreasonable...
*has been broken 3 times, twice in one match vs Haze*

*has been shield broken by DK too many times to count*

Luckily, I wasn't playing Jigglypuff.

But now ask yourself. Is Jigglypuff so broken that IF her shield was broken, does she deserve to instantly die no matter what unless you just so happen to have a flat roof over you (are there any legal stages like that?)

Now back to trolling:

"Why'd we fix Wario's grab release, it's not like Wario gets grabbed. lolololol"

Also instantly dying from 1 shield break no matter where you are > Maybe dying, possibly getting infinited (I've never seen anyone perfect this yet...), and maybe taking 22~% tops), and that's if you weren't grabbed underneath a platform.

well i said i was going to give an update on my opinion on bb after the UTD tourny. i believe i placed 7th out of the 72 entrants. played against a lot of different characters in pools... but i honestly didn't notice any real difference... the players who made it to the top 5 i believe were still all top tier characters too lol -_- maybe its just because balanced brawl is still new and people haven't had time to learn the changes or something... but for now bb=meh...

@chic:

you made it to 7th with luigi, doesnt that mean something? :p

anywho, i think people just need to adjust to the newly buffed "weak" characters before the old pros at top tiers begin to worry
