it looks amazing and professional. my only nitpick is where the couch warriors banner is on the top right. It seems a little out of place there to me, and i think it should be further down just under the side bars of tags, sites and pages.

i only say this because, the couchwarriors banner design has an incredibly different design to the ausmash logo. so it seems weird. I guess if they had a similar style it'd look better to me though.

What scott said. Plus having two banners up there seems weird i thought that was a advertisment before scott pointed out it's somthing.

Instead of the white i still think black will look much better. Or you can have it as an option on what type of skin to use.

Alzi, you should know by now, being that you want to be a graphic designer and all that, the elements and principles of design. White space being one of those.

As scoot has said, white looks more professional.
And what we might be trying to achieve with the site (might not be) is for our Aussie Smash Scene (lol, A55) to look professional and know what we're doing, knowing that we're all in touch with each other, and are a friendly community.

It's not about what you want, it's about what we're trying to convey to the public.

I'm pretty sure white space is an abstract design concept to do with the layout; to make sure that there is never too much or too little "white space" in a design. It basically means leave a space between segments of the design, but not too much to make it look distant.

Either way, I don't see how the design fails in that aspect anyway.

Agreed. Being up the top where it is, makes it feel more like Couchwarriors owns the site and that Ausmash is just a subsidiary or something.

It's usually a "negative" to whatever is the "positive" in the visual piece, so it contrasts the important stuff.

I can't see how black with "a design" constitutes white space in the case of this website though, it will contrast nothing important. The literal use of white space actually is perfect for the presentation of this website.

In other words, the website looks very effective AND professional. I like it.
