Do you know what this means? Over time as it evolves, it might just evolve to be poisonous or have other methods to deter predators. When it no longer has that as a way to die, it will own the world. When humans inevitably run themselves into extinction or force ourselves off the planet once there are no resources left, the jellyfish will be left alone and the entire earth will fall under its power as it can not be killed. It will be A GOD.

Seems like they die more often to disease and being eaten.

Makes sense for Disease since I think this kind of thing was discussed for humans but made them far more succumb-able to things like cancer.

I feel like cancer exist just so no living thing will ever be able to transcend into a truly immortal being. Cell distortion can be caused by so many things, it's practically unpreventable. With disease in play we might live 2-3 lifespans at most. We're already living to nearly twice the age of people in the middle ages.
