Scratch that. It seems the people at Virtual Rush were talking about the Expo coming up late November, and not Smashtality.

Calm down, everyone! Back to your places. Everything is back to where it was.

Eating cereal during a tournament makes you play way better and it gives you so much better DI lol. Remember everyone, if you have problems with DI or want better DI, drink DJ's Antioxidant Defense lol.

This is more like the tristate circuit, hardly anyone from NORTH north atlantic will be at any of those tournaments except mass madness, because everything else is 6 hours away or some ****. Not really a good spread of tournaments to claim to be ATLANTIC NORTH. mass madness will most likely get a bunch of people who don't attend any of the tournaments a few points, maybe eggm jman and scar if they come etc, but darc, th0rn, dazwa, KDJ, skler, zoso, myself lol, and a bunch of other people basically have no chance to accumulate points even if we wanted to, unless we became rich and bought plane tickets to the TWO pa tournaments. JUST SAYING

see here's a tournament, in CT which is a good central location: http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=200860
oh my some people should have got pointz!!

the current point list is basically tristate power rankings, LOL ( i realize this whole thing was put together by tristate people, so you can do w/e u want, but you did call it "atlantic north circuit" so yea...)

Banks, we are also gonna have spawn's tourney (bullheaded onychomyns?) in Jan as part of the circuit.

What more do you want? Cort's esticle was heavily considered, but the problem with it was that A) it started before the circuit was planned to start, and B) was on the same day as event 52.

What other tourneys do you guys even run? Looking forward, what can we really do to cater to you more than we have? Not our fault you guys are still semi-inactive.

cool story bro. you don't go to mass ever anyway.v CT tourneys are in between us, I go there all the time. I don't ever go to PA because its way too far, just like you would never come to a maine tournament, right?

Including spawn's tournament is great. You guys couldn't do much more, I was just pointing out how it's called the north atlantic circuit and it is really just the tristate circuit with mass madness. But i see your point, oh well

technically spawns tourney is not part of the circuit yet. i would like it to be, and iv contacted him about it multiple times, but hes telling me he needs to talk with the store owner or something first or whoever else is running it, and despite me asking him multiple times, i havnt gotten a solid reply back from him. bottom line, i need to kno what the next event is b4 dec 13th so we always have the next tourney planned. if u guys wanna help me bug him till its a circuit, then go ahead lol.

were trying to spread tournies across the atl north. originally it was planned that the tournies would all be held in the tri state area as were the most active in melee, and its also the most centralized so ppl from md va can make it. we decided to include a mass madness as a tourney, and i would like one more NE tourney. we also cant include just any tourney we want cause it has to adhere to various standards, and fit in the time slot (which is why the last mass madness wasnt included).

Yea I can understand that, I think the problem is no one in New England knows/cares about this circuit, which is no fault of yours, but it presents a skewed view of the talent in "north atlantic" and is a much better representation of tristate placings. Another tournament that is looking to be big is the Rhode Island monthlies ZoSo is putting together, the first of which is NEXT weekend (22nd) so lol, he obviously isn't concerned with being included with the short notice, but maybe he would for next months Rhode Island tournament, assuming it gets/can handle decent attendance from both NE and tristate people.

Basically tristate and new england are like two different regions who are just beginning to mingle with each other, since jman/eggm and their crews or w/e have started coming up to mass and CT. CT is like the connecting factor, (3 hours for maine/NH and the furthest we go regularly) so ideally there should be a bunch of tournaments there but I don't run tourneys so I guess i can't complain... Honestly I didn't even know this circuit was going on so I bet most NE players are in the same boat harhahrr

Banks, I'd just like to point out that CT is a central place for you, but for people in PA, or DE, its pretty far. And then MD/VA is trying to be active in the circuit also (they were planning on having a car come to the first event, but Wife got sick and so the trip was cancelled) and are planning to attend SPOC VI. So to MD/VA, theres no way CT is centralized, which is similar to your problem with PA tourneys.

So you have to realize that no matter what, not everyone is gonna be happy. To get the best results, we need to spread tourneys around as much as possible. This would be easier if every area was equally active, but they aren't. You guys have very few tourneys available, but hopefully with Rhode Island, that will change. I just wish something more south would happen to involve MA/VA, but they're a bunch of brawlheads nowadays.

In summation- we're doin the best we can. :)

zoso's monthly is a good idea, i'l talk to him bout it if bullhead doesnt come through

LOL yea actually I didn't even factor MD/VA into the equation because their brawl-***gotry lmao. but yea I think just having a circuit is awesome, I just perused this thread for the first time a couple days ago so I didn't know the debate had already been had, I just noticed hardly anyone from new england was on it, and I just posted without thinking too much about it =p <3, see some of you at mass madness

yo chibo, what exactly do you need for bullheaded to become a circuit event? The approval of the store shouldn't make a difference, that makes no sense. Its not like we are taking anything from them, in fact it would be just the opposite.

Make it happen bobo. If bullheaded isn't on this thing, it would be ridiculous. Its easily gonna be the biggest tourney since FAST1. ****in Canadadia is coming, lol.

im just sayin what spawn told me, he needed to make sure it was ok from someone else
believe me, i want it circuit. for a tourney to be circuit it needs:
-pool seeding for singles. eliminating to 32 or 64 is preffered but not required i guess (it just comes out much nicer for tournies like these)
-about 10% of the pot taken out from singles and doubles for the anmc fund
-tourney to be ran with tio with all results digitalized, including pools. (if for some reason the bracket is done on paper or something, make sure the seeding when sending ppl to the losers bracket is done perfectly, and that the results are digitalized later.) a lot of ppl do pools by paper but i can always put them from paper to computer if need be
-advertise the tourney being anmc on the thread

thats what ijust thought of now, but i just remembered i put rules for it on the first post lol

It would be mad nice if anyone from up there would drive down for SPOC. I'm going to try to talk to people and see if anyone is interested, namely th0rn/Skler/MDZ/Darc/Daz/Spife etc.

Housing is available!

How would any of this stuff NOT be done.

Aside from the 10% thing the rest is pretty much standard.

It is a 2 day event. They HAVE to be doing pools.

10% shouldn't be an issue if it is taken out after the stores cut, or if they are doing a venue fee.

Who doesn't use Tio?

The last one is just stupid.

i was just thinkn of stuff lol, which is i put the last one. but yea, gotta put somewhere (preferably the title) that its an anmc event so ppl know.

iv seen way too many tournies that dont do those things. big tournies that dont do pools, tournies that dont use tio, tournies that dont provide full results, and tons of tourneys dont do pool result.

but yea the main thing is the 10%

Chibo, I demand to know more details about the final tourney. Is the final tourney gonna cost anything for those who have accumulated enough points to be eligible? Will the final tourney exclude those who haven't earned the necessary amount of points, limiting the tourney to only a 32 man bracket? Will a side tourney be run for those excluded from the 32 man bracket? How many people from the final tourney will be payed out (as in 1st-3rd for example?) How much of the money that is accumulated throughout the circuit season will be going towards things other than the prize money? What will happen if only 20 of the 32 people show up to the final tourney? Will spots 33-44 take these 12 missing spots, completing the 32 man bracket, or will the tourney only run at 20 persons, instead of the full 32?

Seems pretty darn ambiguous...

Yeah, that's something that the ANMC tournament directors should all discuss either in an AIM chat or even at next circuit event (GOTM, go to it!)

ANMC is sooo ****. (I would love it if Maine could come to some events)

yea we already discussed a lot of it. actually almost almost every quesiton jfox asked is on the front page lol, minus one here or there.

the final event will also be a regular qualifer. however, when the qualifier is over, there will be the final bracket. (maybe a 2 day event?)

final bracket is free if ur top 32

if ppl are absent, a bye is put in, not place #33 and so on

anmc fund is pretty much gonna be 100% prize money. i cant think of anything else it would be needed for

not sure yet if it will be to #1 or top 3 or something. depends how big the fund is at the end

final bracket is a 32 man bracket

Edit: The DSO is RE-RECOGNIZED! What's that mean? I can start to hold tourneys regularly at Drexel for the next YEAR. I'm offering Clash of the Titans to be the final event if people think it's a good idea. It will be a 2 day tourney, and I can hold it anytime so it can be the final event (i will hold events before it, but they wont be anmc). I want this **** to be BIG. final anmc event, inviting out of state, region, and country players, the works. what month do you think will work best for this? April? May? Even for a tourney that far away I can probably have the tournament listing up this week hopefully.
