Since I'm derailing the thread I'll double post and ask a question.

What do you think about using more UpB Nick? I think its a nice mix up when you're in jab range and I've been using boost jumps on stage for spacing now.

Were you at ZP that one time?
I wondered who that was...
Anyways...

I don't really think of specific combos, this IS Brawl after all.
The closest thing would be d-smash > wait > d-tilt > uair.
That seems to work at mid %s.

So I just watched your Brinstar LP.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how do you rate the Super Metroid Brinstar theme?

also needs more walljumping XD

Hey, the controllers are good quality.
I don't care if I need to wait for space-jump to get any walljump related things.

Ye, the Gamecube Controller is the best Controller ever made.

SNES is the best Console ever created, though ;}

I'm halfway through season 1.

I can't believe I haven't watched this.

I say that about almost every anime I watch off-season, lol.

I did go to Zero ping in September and I'm also going this Saturday. I think it was August when you played my brother(I didn't go at that time). and also I'm just trying to think of some interesting combos to do while I'm playing. :)

No. It's not possible for ZSS to ever pressure any opponent who has an item in hand. It isn't really possible for most characters. Don't you kind of laugh when someone hits your shield while you're holding a suit piece for instance?

ZSS has an approaching weakness, sort of. it's actually easier to say most characters who aren't MK or Snake have a pretty profound approach weakness, but ZSS has it better than most of them. Her dash attack is good at closing distances quickly and comes out really fast. Her grab sucks, but can be used at range when they expect a dash attack. That's about it, though. The rest of the time you spend is sort of doing weird things waiting for an opening.

All projectile characters have big openings. Diddy Kong became easier for me with a lot of practice playing against Peach, because really, the principle is similar. You can't punish anything they do with an item in-hand, but the item pull animations take ****ing forever, so punish those instead.

If they have a banana in-hand, accept that you can't do anything about it, bait the toss, and try to take control if the item. If you can't, make sure they can't either, so eventually they have to pull another one if they want items on the field. When that happens, do ZSS stuff. I have a big write-up about the Peach match-up I've been wanting to post and a lot of the same ideas apply, so it might help you to think of it the same way.

I don't think ZSS has an approaching weakness at all. Just against Diddy Kong with a banana in hand. I guess the same applies to other characters with items but to me they're a lot less threatening because well, you can't convert a turnip throw into high damage or a KO most of the time.

If you don't think Peach can convert a Turnip into a KO you aren't playing very good Peach players. =/

I can't wait until you guys have the opportunity to play a strong EC Peach like Vinnie or Dark.pch. Some of the things said about the match-up boggle my mind, like Peach not being able to KO from a Turnip, or her having low kill power (fair kills at like 125 or 130 fresh, which it should be, since any good Peach stops even using it to build damage at around 100%).

I mean, nair and bair are solid approaches in many matchups, just not the ones that matter :/

Like today I beat a DK main that had beaten me twice in tourney before, in large part because I realized that he thought he could shield grab a nair, and I dsmashed him for it at kill percent twice. Most characters cannot cover that much disjointed range in 10 frames from shield

Well yeah if you're a top tier obviously. I'm saying look at anyone outside of the top tier and it is a solid approach generally. Obviously those are not the matchups that matter though

I've survived a near-fresh fair at 120-130%, being hit from the right edge to the right blast zone. I did it yesterday and it'll be uploaded later this week. Peach has low kill power.

The thing is, you can punish people trying to punish nair OOS with dtilt and jab, if you predict it. If they perfect shield, sure, they have you, but that's your fault for getting predictable/bad luck due to yomi.

Nair is a great approach. Bair is also a great approach. Not because of the moves themselves, but because you can easily mix up into other options from these moves. Just space better and don't get shield grabbed.
