Random questions
A: Does anybody know if Fox's shine has set hitstun?
I know it has set Knockback but not sure about hitstun
and B:
How do you hit with Falcon's Reverse B-AIR
I've done it a couple times but can anyone tell/show me where the exact hitbox is to get the Reverse

More questions about p2p. Apparently what I said before was wrong; all of the ports at my college are open, but they suppress torrenting and other p2p programs through "packet filtering". Does anybody know exactly what this is or how to get around it?

Could this also explain why sometimes I have packet issues (packet queuing, packets arriving out of order, straight up packet loss, etc.)?

Note: I do not know what packet queuing is either, and have tried to look it up, but haven't found much on it. What is it?

Yeah, it's not hard to find. That'll work. Just basically right next to falcon or on him sends 'em back. Honestly, it comes in useful, but not that often; good Uair hitboxing is much more important.

MATTS! has skill...you cant win otherwise...and he did beat a lot of people when he was going "through the pros" but the "hype" you get about him being "THE BEST PWN >9000%"

MATTS! knows wat to do to beat ppl but thats it, ive seen kirbys with way more skill like Alpha CL. Matts other characters are average

Yeah, that's what I've gathered so far. He doesn't seem too impressive in the technical department, but boy does he abuse what God gave Kirby.

At least he does it well!

Who said you need to be super technical to be a good player?
QFT 4 LIFE.

Some techs are simply not that useful (such as no clip boomerang) and not knowing how to do it doesnt make you a bad player.

Could someone please supply me some mario hitbox pictures along with basic motions?

I can't seem to find any(nor do i have the skills to make the diagrams).

i will credit you on my guide, still in progress btw.

not to dampen your efforts, but your entire guide so far has been filled with content written and acquired by others. It honestly is a lot of work to get those pictures and I appreciate you cite that you took it from me, but honestly you should do most of the work for your own guide. Try to base it off more than 75% of your own content while adding a few helpful quotes and pictures from others to better your message. It takes awhile to write a guide, so if you want rights to the OP, I suggest you write it yourself.

I have started to off-base most content and starting to write my own, once again, it was under construction so i needed a push to get things started.

I just can't find the hitbox data and or pictures;if worst comes to worst, then yeah, i will do it on my own.

Also, I'm not a walking smash dictionary, so i do like to quote other insights. :)

another question:
why cant I jab into grab with pikachu.

I see everyone else able to go staright from their jab into a fgrab, but whenever I jab there is long ending lag after the final hit which dosnt give me nearly enough time to grab.

Pika = my worst character

I know nothing about programming, but I find it hard to believe that they would ACCIDENTALLY include a simple way to cancel lag and put in little animations for it and everything. Sakurai is evil, not stupid; it wasn't that hard to put in a couple easter eggs like that so that people could feel awesome when they discovered it. The same question got asked about DI a while back, and some people thought that maybe the testers discovered the jabs-against-wall thing or something and put in a quick n' dirty fix so that people could get out of it.

Parrying, on the other hand... probably accidental, yes? I always get a kick out of thinking about what was going through the heads of those crazy asians when they gave DK's down-B that one invincibility frame. Were they LULZ'ing or high or did Sakurai anticipate a much awesomer metagame than is currently present =p?

Z-canceling and teching was probably planned. But DI idk. It seems strange that they would choose destroy your controll stick and not smash a button, for DI. Without DI, controller would last much longer.

O RLY? Care to explain the mario party minigames, then, if Sakurai and the crew were so worried about how long your stick lasted? In fact, care to explain the ****ty stick if they cared about how long your stick lasted?

Nintendo never takes the hardware's defects into account, and I doubt they'd see it as a bad thing if you had to buy a new controller.

Well I'm not sure actually, but it seems strange to me. They could have DI with buttons instead. Its just doesn't seems that they planned it that way, but on the other hand, DI i so important, that it would also be weird if they didn't plan it.

As for mario party. Its most smashing buttons.

Not as hard as on smash. Not even close. Mario party is mostly smashing buttons, at least mario party 2 and 3. Haven't played the first that much though. So maybe you screw your joystick there. Do you know if the old Japanese site you referring to was made by the ones who made the game? If so, its obvious planned. If not, it could be that they just discovered it fast.

Mario Party 1 games involve rotating the joystick fast. It basically destroys your palms. I believe the source ballin is talking about is the official Japanese instruction manual for smash. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah that make sense. So they probably chance the hard joystick rotating in the newer games since it didn't work out. Sure some minigames on mario party 2 and 3 also require joystick rotation, but not more than other 64 games. At least not as much as DI in smash.

Looks like DI is planned then. Instruction manual cant be wrong. XD

I think that frame might have been unintentional (seems a lot more likely then DI not being purposely there xD)

Mostly because thats obviously not very long to be invincible and it actually happens much before the attack actually starts (compared to the 1 frame you get invincible)...could such a thing really even be used effectively in serious play??

Well, we know lag cancelling was definitely on purpose in Melee because there were sped-up animations, but it's harder to distinguish in 64. You get the same animations (I think) as regular falling when Z-cancelling, so it could have been a byproduct of the teching facet of the game.

I seriously doubt it wasn't intentional, though.

On another related note, when you fast fall, there are 8 frames of landing lag, as opposed to the 4 you get from landing normally and Z-cancelling (I could be mistaken). I know that fast-fall aerials aren't possible except if you fast-fall first, and if you do fast-fall, but also perform an aerial and then cancel it, do you still get the 4 frames of lag, or 8 because of the fast-falling?

this is correct. in ssb64 zcanceling removes all arial lag, leaving you with your regular 4 frames of landing lag or 8 frames if FF

I dont think so, 64 is so different, it has much less defensive stuff, and has so many long combos, he would basically die much much easier and he could not DI the **** out of your attacks
