So Apex is over and I have to say it was amazing for my first major and the best tourney ive been to. There were so many amazing monents there so I thought I'd make a Top Ten Moments/matches list.
So here we go.

10. Salem vs M2k:The winner is.... not Meta Knight
I know its not melee but damn that was hype. Im not into brawl but I can't deny the fact it was amazing. So close. Last Match. Last Stock. Last Hit. Also amazing a Zero Suit won. In a sea full of MKs a single Zero Suit stood.

9. Hbox vs Armada:The Plan Gone Wrong
Armada picks YLink, Hbox picks Ness. Hbox wins, Armada counter picks with Peach, Armada wins. Hbox counterpicks puff..... CheckMate. Or you'd think. I dont think anyone including Hbox was expecting Armadas YLink to beat Ness since Armada only picked that character up to fight Hbox's puff. It was an amazing set no matter what people say bout the length in time. And that ness is just amazing.

8. Kikoushi vs. Isai : Pride Tears Victory
First Superboom and now Kikoushi. Isai has fallen again but not without giving a great show. I loved the fact that a bunch of Japanese players came here and did so well with really no one thinking they'd get this far. When Kikoushi came out wearing the outfit, it felt amazing to witness such pride from a player from another countey. Him crying for not justing winning Apex but for beating the player he looked up to and admired, well it reminds me why I play this game.

7. Axe vs Javi: The Axe Effect
I was expecting Javi to come back and place top 5 again... was I wrong. You cant deny Javi has one of if not the best Fox's right now and to see him play undeniably. the best Pikachu... well I wasn't expecting that. Now it was an amazing set but you gotta give it to Axe it was defiantly in his favor. He knows how to fight fox(see Axe vs Jman) and im sure Javi hasnt had much practice against the yellow mouse. Was just incredible.

6. Leffen vs Javi: Europe vs. Mexico
Fox vs Fox. Europe vs Mexico. Best of the Best. Was hoping for this match. Two of the best Fox's s. The first match with up throw chain grabs to death was amazing. This was one of the flashiest matches to me. We've seen fox dittis before but this was just nuts.

5. Shroomed vs..... Sheik
Overtriforce and Kirbykaze.... 2 of the best Sheik mains around and Shroomed took them both out... with Doc. You cant deny Shroomed has earned himself a spot on the Top Ten Players list for 2012/2013. You also gotta give it to Over and KK for putting in work. They didnt just let him walk past them, they gave their all but just fell short.

4. Hax vs Javi: The Combo
Apex 2012...Javi stormed through American players and placed 4th. Apex 2013 would be a different year. It was Hax's turn to storm through the competition. Tho he did not break the prophecy, he did give us some of the most Hyped matches of Apex 2013. The Combo to win the game and the set... well all I can say is if you didn't see it yet You're in for a treat.

3. Armada vs Dr. Pp: A Champions Farewell
At last we can finally say who is the best. Finally we can say who us Melees greatest. Armada has dominated tournament's since Genesis 2 and hasnt looked back. This would unknowingly be USA's last shot at beating Armada and even after giving it all hes got PP as well as hbox fell short. Ill say it was amazing seeing Dr. Peepee bring out his Marth for an amazing show. Armada had lost a set and was shown to be very beatable... sadly we may never see it.

2. Mew2King vs Mango: Return of the King
East Coast vs West Coast. Best Defense vs Best Offense like how Mango put it. Mew2King had already beaten Mango in winners and now losers. This set was amazing. Both great players who have played each other countless times now for the second time in the same tournament. In the end Mew2King reminded people once again why hes known as the robot. The last stock that reminded people so much of the memorable match vs DaShizWiz, Mango was off the stage.. we knew it was over we were just waiting for the announcer to say Game.

1. Hax vs Leffen: The Match
"Hax! Hax! Hax! Hax!" The match so many people have been waiting for. The match that basically made this tournament for me. USA had to choose who to send in and it was pretty obvious who was going in. There was no more excuses, no where to run. There was only Hax and Leffen side by side. Both players played amazing. The crowd was hype.... and sadly disrespectful. Lets not forget Leffen was down a stock but also remember a one stock lead against fox is no lead. Finally it was over Hax won shook hands..... and flipped a chair, and made it obvious to the crowd it was over. Overall my favorite match and moment, Hax's reaction after was just icing on the cake.

So there are my top ten. What are yours?

Honorable Mentions
Dj Nintendo vs Javi & Leffen with Bowser.
Leffen vs Hbox
Axe vs Hax
Hbox vs Armada crews(almost recreated Genesis)

Wriiten on my phone sorry for any mistakes.
Updates coming soon hopefully

Where can I find leffen vs hax and leffen vs hbox?

They aren't on youtube :(

But I really am glad you enjoyed apex. I loved it as well.
My favorite set was M2k vs mango (either of them) because m2k just went DBZ lol. And that WD offstage nair edge guard was so smexy.

EDIT:
The supreme lack of Gucci's falcon from apex on youtube is disgusting

Shroomed and Pewpewu's run through doubles was incredibly fun to watch. Hax vs. Javi was an amazing set also.

1. Grand Finals second set: Easily the most top moment for me. After Armada only barely lost to PP:s Marth in the first set, it was awesome to see him to adapt so well to pp's marth, making it look easy to beat him, only losing one match in the set. Epic comeback from Armada in so hard matchup against best Marth vs Peach player PP. What else can you complete anymore?

2. Mew2King finally beating Mango: I waited this to happen so many years, and honestly, I already thought it was impossible to m2k to beat mango, since he seemed to always get so easily beaten by mango. But now it finally happened, and the look on m2k's face when he beat mango :D. That's hilarious, never gonna forget that one lol :). I hope this starts an era of confidence for m2k, and we will see the old knight rise once again!

I have a few(no order):

1. Hax doing anything....because he was inspiring and hype

2. 64 finals....because of the hype and what I learned about Isai afterward.

3. USA makin me proud in crews because patriotism

4. My Marth.....because I love that character and have much to prove with him and what he allowed me to do at the tournament.

4.5 Dancing during finals THAT WAS FREAKING FUN LOL

best part of Apex was the "Javi da bess" hype being somewhat silenced

especially dat Hax combo oh lawd
Speaking of which, and I'm not trying to start any controversy, but what in the world happened to that Zavage guy? Seems like people were hyping him up quite a bit but then I didn't hear a single thing about him the entire tournament.

What was that, if I may ask? I'm kind of curious as to what one could learn about a player that would make it a Top 5 Thing in a whole big-*** international tournament, lol.

Isai was playing Mario because Mario is/was "the last character to master in the game" for Isai. He didn't care if it was finals of Apex or he was at home playing online, he just wanted to use every opportunity to master the entire game. That shift from the traditional view of just learning enough to win or rather into the perspective of total mastery of your subject area is truly inspirational and humbling to me.

Hax Leffen. So hype, and that throat-cut at the end... man.

Hax Javi. That combo.

Gucci Wobbles. Gucci came out of nowhere with a ferocity that was reminiscent of Javi/PP, but Wobbles held it out. Great match from both sides.

64 GFs. I don't even play the game, and that was pretty hype. The Japanese dude's reaction after he won was pretty amazing as well.

Mango/M2K gets an honorable mention, because I love seeing M2K win and playing confidently+well, it seemed sort of hollow because mango looked off his game. No johns though.

Who did you hear this from?

If it wasn't Isai, I don't think it's correct... for example, he played link last year, and link is one of the characters he has more experience with (mastery of). He's made a fair number of posts on the subject and he's talked to me about it, and the general gist is that while he does want to "be the best," he prefers to prove it over long recorded seriously sessions, disdaining 3/5 sets as too short to prove true skill. This, combined with his desire to show that mid/low tier characters can be good, leads him to play non-main characters during tourney (essentially he's playing for fun, although he does try his hardest in every way except character and stage selection).

He proved what he needed to prove with pikachu, fox, and kirby in his out-of-tournament matches against the Japanese. Mario is not, as far as I know, his worst or least practiced character; he plays very little ness, for example, but I've seen his mario often before, and it's quite good (beating boom, for example, whom he would presumably lose to with samus, link, ness, jigglypuff, and luigi).

If you did hear that from Isai... he's a mysterious guy, lol.

That said, the general principle of what you said is entirely correct; Isai does play to master the entire game, as evidenced by his love of 12-character battles. He'll for sure only use his mains in serious matches against worthy opponents like Gerson, though. And I'm glad you're inspired... he has that effect on most everyone.

Top moment for me was PPU/Shroomed running a train through Winners. I was pretty skeptical of Doc/Marth working, but they proved me (and probably many others) wrong.

Especially their last game vs. MangDoH. The dunk heard 'round the world.

Hax was a monster during Apex, and I've been warming up to him a lot since RoM5/NEC. I am now a steadfast fan.

I'm glad the throat slash was recorded somewhere.

I'm not entirely sure why he was hyped up so much lol. He doesn't actually play that much, he came to Apex with Javi and the rest of them for fun (obviously they all did, but I mean that I don't think he had any intention of doing particularly well). I played him after apex, actually, and beat him. I'm guessing you've never heard of me, so that should sum it up pretty well lol. He mains luigi, by the way.

Ah, cool cool. Nice work. Just figured he was more of a force to be reckoned with by the way that one guy ( can't remember his name) was going on and on about him in the predictions thread. And I have heard of you before (you answered a question for me once on the Falco boards I believe.)
