Someone ask Merihimu if he thinks his alias should be Merihim or Merihimu. In any case, here's a native pronunciation of it.

Also, he played Moyashi three times in online seriouslies (matches for the online ranking) on July 2013.
He won twice: a 1-stock and a 2-stock - to the great amusement of the guy on the mic - and lost once, a 3-stock.
He also got 3-stocked by Dejikuro (kirby) at that same thing, so y'know.

Merihim seems border line S tier from everything I've seen.

The one vid I saw he 2 stocked Red. It was his DK but it's still Red...

If he's beating Moyashi and Red that's pretty much S tier.

I just realized there's potential to see a whole lot of Congo with Hyrule banned and the inevitable, ginormous fleet of pikas and kirbies . . . YES!!

so apex redid their schedule.

instead of having PM start at 4pm as the original schedule said, they pushed it back to 10am to start and run concurrently alongside melee and brawl.

i suggested that as well and got a NO CAN'T DO IT SORRY YOU GUYS START AT 4PM CAN'T OVERLAP BECAUSE OF OTHER PEOPLE

but apparently it's okay for PM to overlap with melee and brawl, despite all of them taking considerably longer than 64

and it's totally not feasible at all for us to start at 2pm or even noon, considering we have half the entrants of the other games. also more time for a tourney to run = more available setups (don't need to worry about 32, for instance, because there's an extra 4 hours of wiggle room).

PM also has 400 entrants and hit their caps a very long time ago. Pushing back the schedule wasn't to change their format - they are still using bracket pools.

If you don't like Apex you don't have to go, but don't ruin it for those who still want it to be around (and to finally go to one) for next year.

i accepted bracket pools a long time ago. that isn't why i'm laughing.

we could very well have had 16x16s to top 32 in a straight bracket or 4x8, but nah. everything's staying the same.

was this even considered at all? now if you REALLY want to be amused at "uniformity" you can just look at the revised schedule. all smash games get this gigantic constantly running stream of matches (not stream as in livestream) except 64, which starts 6 hours later.

10am finals has always been a joke and we know it.
also nintendude, i'm still waiting for an explanation as to what happened when you went overseas and said "this isn't what we agreed on, i'll talk to them", and then nothing more was said about it. which leads me to think you were probably told one thing to be quieted down or something and then they went ahead and did whatever they wanted.

and yobo, hush. you just jump on any bandwagon you see on this entire forum, throw an LMAO in and try to be accepted by people instead of realizing that the only person who likes you is kero. you have never had any input on any situation that was completely wasteful. i could just take your stance and say you aren't going to apex, so quit posting in this thread as if you matter. you're not a part of the community, be it socially or competitively. hate to break it to ya. but i think you already knew that and would prefer to front.

There's not much to explain there. The stream schedule was adjusted and the schedule had to conform to the stream schedule to get us on the main stage. I don't have influence over the stream schedule so there was nothing that could be done, and I absolutely wanted us to be on the main stage. Having 2 rounds of pools was considered but we decided it's not worth it since it's not really any different from 1 round. As I've said it's just drawing different arbitrary lines in the sand.

PM got extended but I have a feeling their stream time won't be extended since that schedule is set in stone already. The only thing that happened for them was they built more time into the schedule to accommodate their whopping 400 entrants.

nah clubba. people need to realize that personal feelings have nothing to do with logistical issues. they don't detract or enhance any arguments. i could hate on yobo all i want, won't change what jack**** when it comes to something like the uniformity issue. am i wrong?

nah yobo, not because you aren't going to apex this year, but because you've ceased going to anything and all of your input is useless.

what do you mean it's not any different from 1 round? a 16x16 promoting to a 4x8 to top8 seems pretty different than a 40 person pool to me. the problem i have is it seems like we're just getting ushered out, you know? starting late and hoping to god everything finishes on time in the smaller allotted times doesn't seem to be a better option thatnstarting earlier and not having that worry.

i'm not discussing this to change apex right now. i'm not trying to make everything turn in my favor. and i'm not whining.

all i'm doing is pointing out things i think we should be aware of, because if we recognize the problems and issues now, we'll be better prepared to deal with them should they arise next year. i'm bringing it to everyone's attention that there is room for improvement.

if you guys think things change because you sit back and stay quiet, you're wrong. if apex thinks we're okay with things like 10am finals and shortened event times, they're going to keep that trend up if we just stay quiet.

i'd rather highlight the facts so we have leverage later.

Cobr you need to realize that when half the stuff you say is valid and half is complete nonsense people are less likely to pick out the valid points. I'm not disagreeing with your valid points, I'm trying to help you out buddy

What nintendude is saying is that regardless of how many rounds of pools it would still be bracket pools so its really still one big bracket with 2 arbitrary cutoffs instead of one which is only different in name not practice.

I think people understand. Its just that the way you raise your concerns you do it in a very nonconstructive way, so you don't achieve the kind of influence you want, ESPECIALLY with the people in position to change things

guuyys come on. Let's just enjoy that APEX is here.
They're just allowing more time to a game that needs more time to be run. Like FIRECOBR said, saying nothing is not going to change anything, but posting **** in a way that sounds demanding (come on, cobr. you're an english major) is just going to alienate the TO's. Think of how ridiculous it must be to run a bunch of huge tournaments all in one day. This tournament was announced in July and the guys at Apex were proabbly not expecting to have as many PM players (or even melee) as they do, and they've probably been pushing super hard these last couple of months to make things happen. I can't imagine the stress. SUGGESTING ideas is fine, but demanding things to happen the way you want to as if you had nothing to lose is just going to get you nowhere. Just sit back and relax. Enjoy Apex!

the inconsistencies are the most aggravating things to me, and my hope is that more people will recognize them. if it's just three people pointing all this **** out, the powers that be are likely to shrug off anything they say.

if 150 people joined in and said "hey 10am finals is wrong, why can't you move us to another spot that isn't extremely early in the morning and will probably yield poorer results between the players because of latenight smashing and exhaustion from a long day of playing and traveling?"

it would be hard to ignore

lol he hasn't showed up to any of my daily smash sessions the past 2 weeks. I'm starting to wonder if he was ever real, and I've met him several times (I think)

also they took down the brackets that were up on challonge lol. I don't think I was supposed to find those, damn I resourceful!
