A hypothetical. If I were going who would you seed higher, me or Kefit?
Kefit placed well last Apex, really the only console tourney with solid competition we can base anything off of the past couple years.
I've never been to a big console tourney but I've consistently placed top3/4 in online tourneys (which arguably has tougher competition) since around 2008.
Nobody knows who's better since we've never played. Does one console tourney trump years of online tourneys with tougher comp just because it's console?
Hard to know what's right..
Double post. PWN BEST 100%
We played once a million years ago online, but four frames fake smash is very fake smash. So yeah I guess we've never played on console.
Seeding for this console tournament should be determined by results of the last couple of major console (read: not fake smash) tournaments (i.e. Genesis 2011 and Apex 2012). These contests consistently saw Boom/Isai/Jaime/me in first through fourth place in that order following extremely close matches between Boom and Isai and between me and Jaime. Yes, Genesis may not have had a ton of players, but the competition on the top end of it was undeniably fierce.
I'm not sure why people have been doubting me after these performances, but I guess it's just the hip thing to do. But you can't deny that I've earned a high seeding for the upcoming Apex.

Also, if somehow the community were able to provide like 20 setups we could feasibly do pools, but I'm assuming that we aren't getting that many so pools are not an option.
Even then I still don't think pools would be feasible given the logistical issues behind the amount of time we have available and finding players + forcing them to actually play their matches. It's not like we can keep pushing more and more of the tournament to Saturday, since Jel and I and I'm sure others have to fly out on Saturday afternoon.
Regardless, I trust in your ability to seed things properly - it worked out pretty well last year. I think the trickiest part will be squeezing in the JP players. They're undeniably skilled with gobs of console results, but we have little if any idea how their competition would fare against our own top end. I'd probably stick them in after the top six from Apex 2012 (a pretty clear cut-off point for seeding I think), but that still has them competing for placement with really skilled players like megavolt. So I dunno. Don't screw up, Nintendude :D
