Anime Charleston Monthlies (Brawl-Melee) - North Charleston SC - June 13th GET HYPED!

Meh, I'm not really a big commentator on Smash Boards, but this forum has made me interested. These are my two cents (from SoCal) on what should happen:
1) From my understanding, Plasma Pikmin is running this tournament (as the TO). This gives him 100% dominance on ANYTHING that happens in the tournament. If he chose to make Hyrule Temple legal, Hyrule Temple would be legal. If he banned Meta, Meta would be banned. Attendees do NOT have a say as to what happens for set ups of tournaments, but are merely allowed to give their opinions, which the TO may or may not find valid.
2) This doesn't mean that the attenddees are completetly helpless; if you find the rules to be completely unjust, just refrain from going. If you think that Plasma's tournament is stupid because Metaknight isn't banned, exercise your right to not go. It's really as simple as that.
3) Concerning the whole "poll" thing. As previously stated, it's Plasma's choice to follow what the people want or not. If the attendees made a poll for this tournament, and the majority wanted Pictochat as a neutral stage (for whatever reason), does that mean that Plasma HAS to make it a neutral stage? Of course not.
That's really all i have to say.

There is no answer to planking.
If MK planks, he can turn those supposedly even (LOL!), 50:50/45:55 match-ups into 70:30/80:20 and in some cases tilt the matches even further into his favor.
Since MK isn't banned, I'd suggest enforcing a rule to stop planking.

Honestly, I will not say that Metaknight is not the best character in the game. He is. There's no doubt about that. I will also say that he has no bad matchups, and no bad stages. I am also pro-ban on a nationwide basis.
What my opinion towards what should happen: I think Metaknight should be legal. However, to prevent planking and such, I think a 55 ledge grab rule should be in effect. Otherwise, it's just a fight to the death.
Go ahead with that air planking mumbo-jumbo. Snake can deal with that just fine.

We're trying to get you to hold to your word, which if I recall, was to let the attendees decide on the ban ruling—banning MK is a follow-up to this.

I held to my words all along. I don't care what you think about me really. I don't care what other people think of me. That's their problem, not mine. I'm not backing down. I followed the people, which wasn't going so well, so I decided to try to make the situation better, not back down. You're making it sound worse than it is. I just wanted to help, but some people got pissy about it.

In all honesty, what you are legit doing is going against what you first said, and your only justification has been "Im TO, i am GOD!!!" and that you stand behind everyone else....
In this... your wrong. Everyone else NOT involved in YOUR tourney doesn't have say... there not involved. We have a piss-poor smash community as is... and your activley going against that which you said originally, and going againts the poplus' thus far decision to be pro banned. Your going against what a small tourney scene wants for your 1st tourney.... seriously...
And most of us ALREADY play Non-Mk, we are skilled players. But no one wnats to lose JUST because he's so **** broken. And you CANNOT hide behind others words. SBR sets general guidlines with remote intelligence, debate, and thought behind them. Your not using your own in this debate here... your dropping your TO hammer and nothing more

However, you have to realize that he has no obligation to listen to what ANY of us say. If he opted to ban MK, I am in no place to tell him otherwise and would have to just accept the fact that the character is not allowed. I can't tell him how to run his tournament, he's the host and what he says is final. The only thing I can do to show my distaste is not go.
As he is the tournament host, he's laid down his foot on the matter and his word IS, in fact, final on the matter. He actually doesn't have to even explain to us why he is doing it. The only reasonable outcome we can come to here to reduce the amount of arguing is come to a compromise. It seems as if people believe that planking to be one of the main reasons MK is broken. Ok fine, I don't see why you guys are so upset at me. I try to explain things myself, but they don't work out. Whenever someone else says the SAME things I say, everything seems to work out for them. I have no idea why, but whenever I make the same point, I always end up getting yelled at. You guys still don't see the blantantly obvious reason why I'm not explaining anything to you about my decisions.
I am doing my first tournament. And it's in the most standard way possible. I'm modeling it after Genesis and Evo, generic rules. The same rules for 2 NATIONAL TOURNIES are being used in my tourney.

I don't see why I owe an apology for my decision at my tourney that doesn't need any say from any of you. You guys are always welcome to come, I don't have anything against you. But if it bothers you, the best thing you can do is not come.

yay and devin meet in yet another epic battle. devin pulls an upset on yays snake, having cleverly dedeuced and mastered the snake match up with the utmost skill and grace.
yay, knowing he only has one option, will coutner pick the man with no face, the dark abyss, the ball sack of brawl, meta knight.
and yay will win.
then devin, being the ****ing cool guy he is. will have no choice but to also pick MK.
then. the final match will be boaring as ****.

Like previous posters have said—if there were another tournament in SC, on this day, and I wasn't already bringing half of the tournament in my car (people & setups)—I would totally go to a different tournament.
But, as I have blasted people time, and time again for canceling or just not showing, period—I will come.
Not only would I be hypocritical if I didn't, but I'd also be letting people down.

I will laugh at the other nine MKs in the top ten behind him—they used the most broken character in the game, and they still lost. They had every advantage a player could get, and still failed.
Short of the gods playing their cards in said MK-main's favor, what else could be done for him to win?

Ok, I can see that I'm being called immature after you cleary called me a number of things in that post.
I didn't do anything wrong, and as said by MANY people in previous posts, I don't have to explain for one main reason, which is obvious.
I tried being nice, and again, I get yelled at. I'm trying the best I can to fix this little thing going on, and I end up getting yelled at.
