A metaknight who doesnt spam tornado? O.o

guess what? i main MK, and i rarely use the tornado. i lost in semifinals in a recent tourney, but i was watching another match with another MK. his strategy: tornado, tornado, tornado, and the occasional dsmash for the kill. thats cheap as hell. do all MK users do this? >.< cause i dont

thats life and smash. Some people will spam the tornado and some won't. You'll run into it sooner or later.

Learn to beat the tornado. Also it goes really stale really fast.

I use it to recover if I'm versing someone like Marth or DK... Other than that, I use it for offense at the beginning of the match. I have a question though. How can some people connect the opponent into all of the tornado's hits and do 15%? I try to do it mashing B and all I get is an opponent flying away before the final hit...

No. Tornado should be used a lot (depending on the match-up), but not too much like you say. Using it too much becomes predictable and MK will get punished a lot.

Outright spamming tornado will not help you beat a good player.
Using it a lot will.

Use it, but use it smart.

Tornado shouldn't be ignored as a move altogether just because it's cheap; it's one of MK's better moves. It's one of MK's better options for pressuring at some points in time; however, if you use it a lot, people will predict it and shield it or attack you out of it with the right move. It's all about looking for that healthy balance of tornado in your game; just make sure that it is present, because it is a great move.

Let me ask you a question. If you cannot find a way to beat the Tornado, or my Tornado spam, why should I stop using it?

Does this mean that if you cannot find a way around Falco's SHDL, I should stop doing that? What about Dedede's Chain Grab? How about G&W's Turtle? Any other example you find suitable?

If my opponent is not smart enough to find a way to stop, beat, or eliminate a tactic, or does not have enough skill to effectively do so, why should I stop? Because I'm going to win? Because it's cheap?

You shouldn't stop. The bottom line is, "cheap" is another word for effective used by ignorant players who are either too lazy, do not care, or simply are not smart enough to find ways to stop a strategy or tactic. What makes professional players the pros they are is their skill, and their skill is defined by how effectively they can use and abuse effective strategies, techniques, moves, combos, et cetera in order to win.

People do not care if you think it is "gay", because chances are that if it isn't already banned, you're likely one of those individuals too narrow minded to find a way around it.

This is not pointed to anyone in particular in this thread, I just thought I would take my thoughts and throw them here just in case. I see and hear a lot of people whine about how a player will use Tornado more than once on specific occasions in matches. Well, if it's actually working, are you blaming him for doing it? No one would be complaining about it if it wasn't effective.

Tornado should be used intelligently anyway. It doesn't work well on all characters, and if it's spammed, you're likely going to get hit hard for it.

IMO shuttle loop is better and has more uses. (shuttle loop-glide attack above ground-tornado for the epic win)Tornado is good, but its not a good idea to abuse it, since everyone and their mother is training to counter it.

I've never considered the tornado a good move... I don't use it very much.

MK's best move is his fair. That's the only move MK can not do without, and it's by far his most used move. Fair, dtilt, ftilt, broken grab, dsmash are MK's bread & butter. Stuff like the tornado is meh and depends on play style. Tornado isn't even good in high level play. Every one of the high tier characters has a way around it.

All you need with MK is spacing and knowing how to limit peoples' options with his amazing traps.

I use it intelligently. Whether that means I use it little or a lot depends on the matchup and my opponent's skill level.

I can't remember the last time I even used the tornado.I might occasionally use it as a distraction for my partner,cause I love team battles.But,other than that,I rarely use it.

yea im not saying not to use it but the guy that i saw playin ONLY used it till like 100+ and dsmash which comes out fast so hard to dodge :\ thats like... yea...

If it works then I don't see why the MK player owes it to the other player not to use it as much as he wants.

Tornado is good if you can catch your opponent off guard with it, wear down shields, and recover from the stage. Alot of players learned how to counter this move already so you'll get punished if you spam this move alot.

I don't spam tornado either. In fact, I use my Drill Rush even more than I use Tornado.
You should not spam attacks since it makes you predictable.
