bayo winning is great but keep in mind zero elite diddys and no zoners and no dabuz slowing the matches down. this was a hyper aggressive top 4 and top 8 in general. bayo thrives in that environment. combo food everywhere.
great job by pink fresh but this was also a very good draw for him. matchups matter.

Still a regional. The last KTAR had a number of top players, but was not considered a major either. Them's the ropes. Still a very nice win. Very impressive stuff.

Ktar Saga>Evo 2016

Also before we go ahead and knee jerk to these results, let's remember that there weren't too many good Diddys in this tourney, and that probably made things easier for Bayo and ZSS. Though both looked very impressive today.

The lack of diddy is refreshing

Nietono is an elite Diddy that lost to Saj recently, another Bayonetta. I don't think that matchup is as bad as everyone says.

Void, Larry and Mars were present and these players outplaced a lot of the players on your list at Evo.
Anti, Zinoto, and Dabuz were top 3 at CEO. Zero beat Void and Larry at EVO (and outplaced them in the process). Abadango beat Larry at EVO.
Oh yeah, forgot about Ally, who won EVO.

This is the second time I've seen "Such and such won a negative matchup one time, I don't think the matchup is that bad" in this thread today.

That isn't how matchups work. Ness can beat Rosalina. It can happen. Doesn't mean that when it does that we should automatically assume a matchup is all the sudden even.

(Not trying to be an *** but I felt like pointing it out.)

He fought Impose, a Bowser main, who he lost to 2-0. It was fairly close with Doc, but for whatever reason, 2MC decides to go for DK Game 2
Some of Doc's worst matchups are against the heavies (Sans Dedede and Ganon).
Bowser is no exception.
DK was a bad counterpick though.

To be fair Some has already beaten KEN in the past if I'm remembering right, it's not that surprising.

T choked really hard in GF, he took too much knee and his ledge getup are way too predictable

I still can't believe link took home the silver, outpacing both tinks in top 16 as well, T is an amazing player, props to him, as well as pichi for adapting so well
Edit: I noticed T going for dthrow-> soft nair -> to dash attack, but failing, is this supposed to catch airdodges?

I think KTAR Saga deserves to be ranked as Category 3. It had top level players from all over the US in attendance and was more stacked than, say, GOML ... which also was ranked as Category 3.

wait how was this equal to goal? zero Japanese players, no z, no a, no anti, no mewtwo king, no dabuz. maybe we need decimals in the ranking or something but this wasn't equall.
also the highest cloud at umebura is 17 it's really time for people to calm down on cloud.

i'll look at previous 2GGTs before I make a final decision

No top 5 players were in attendance (Mr. R? Maybe? Ally/Dabuz/ZeRo all have better records and I'd argue some combination of Kameme/Ranai/Aba are better) which gives me very heavy pause to putting it in the C3 category.

Yes, Cloud has been... performing strangely, lately.
However, if he is not Top 5, in you guys' opinion, who is?

Because Sheik-DK is apparently close to even. I'd say it's 55-45 Sheik because you always have to be careful about the ding-dong and you're generally killing DK at 160+.
The DK matchup looks even right now but let me tell you, its going to turn into absolute **** later on.

Sheik can combo him to hell and back, from 0 - 80 with ease, where he ends up offstage/at the ledge. She can then freely ledge trap him and edgeguard his god awful recovery with rising back air and by repeatedly bouncing fishing him until he dies. Sure hes going to live until 150 that way, but who cares? Its not like hes going to actually get to abuse that rage, hes offstage with no chance of actually getting back on if you don't mess up

Once people see how free DK is at the edge I predict a massive drop on the tier list
