No reason to think that yet. It's not like wii u transfer works since data is deleted from the source wii u. What other option is there?Something tells me you guys won't have issues with unlocking things for tournaments.

Not taking questions right now. Here's a different question for you Zipzo. Have you noticed any NEW items that haven't been shown before yet?
Also any sightings of the Fan or Cracker launcher items?
Source?I appear to be blind. Ignore me.
Ben said via twitter he went to change items and was scolded for doing so and they closed down his station, but he didn't notice anything newHere's a different question for you Zipzo. Have you noticed any NEW items that haven't been shown before yet?

My eyes.Source?
This is amazing. Thank you! FD Link looks great!I know a lot of people are both going to get hyped about this one, and also disappointed.
Sorry Dixie fans.

I will never forgive you, Shaya.Site briefly went down due to daily 6pm maintenance (happens in the background for 15 minutes). Sorry guys!
Sorry being new, damn.Read the thread/Reddit/anywhere before posting questions like these... seriously
There's a lot of stations. Plus they're probably timed and escortedI will never forgive you, Shaya.
Anyways. :3 I am surprised at how often Zipzo are able to play the Smash Demos. I mean, must be countless of people flocking there. Right?
I think he said it was in sort of a rural area. not certain about that though.I will never forgive you, Shaya.

I think it's all these Baby R Us stores in specific prefectures, there's probably A LOT of people all over the place, and every store is probably decently full. I haven't got an estimate today of how often he's getting to play, but yesterday it was once every 20 minutes.I will never forgive you, Shaya.

Melee save data can be copied and transferred effortlessly. Brawl i believe is similar, with some more effort. P:M doesn't have unlockables.... how do you guys normally handle accessing unlockable material?
1) Duh?- Use a Wii U with them unlocked.
- Use a potential method of transferring unlocked content from the 3DS to the Wii U version.
- Some other undisclosed method that we don't know of.
- Run a tournament without custom moves available if all else fails.
Basically, wait and see, but lean towards the assumption that there will be simple ways to deal with this.
And yet you would do it. And custom moves already sound easier to get than characters.4) Ignore custom moves. There are like 15+ characters to unlock who may or may not have unreasonable unlock requirements. If no option exists you would have to unlock every character a couple times to a dozen times over for every system used for tournaments.
I was being blunt. These are all of the possible options that anyone could answer your question with.1) Duh?
2) Potentially. Would be an easy solution, but sakurai isn't really keen on that stuff.

You suggest that we ban an aspect of the game that is unique to this iteration of Smash, that could facilitate balance and add layers of depth to the game, and that could keep the metagame from stagnating for years, simply because it may take some time to complete?Melee save data can be copied and transferred effortlessly. Smash4 data can probably be transferred but not copied and there is no hacking the wii u, yet.

Yes! Good news. Can't wait to try him out. Looking forward to reading the rest of your impressions when I wake up! Thanks again to you and your wife.I played DK and got more in-depth with Zelda.
Link - very low landing lag on his nair and bair. His boomerang only shows the whirlwind on its way back. He's much faster than brawl link. His fsmash (both parts of it) are faster. He felt good.
Exactly as the leak discribed for Shulk. Amazing. Zelda still seems badI played DK and got more in-depth with Zelda.
- DK has surprisingly little landing lag all around, most notably his bair and his dair recover really quick. His recovery strikes me as a bit nerfed given the lack of a ledge snap if he needs to go vertical. The down B slap move has kind of a ridiculous range but I think it always did? It's visible now by a "pound" visual effect.
- okay Zelda. Listen to me.
Her fair and bair are both kicks with sweet spots that hit for 18-20% with huge knock back if you nail it. Low landing lag. 4-6% otherwise.
Her teleport doesn't just do damage on reappearance. The enacting animation launches opponents close enough. If you use the teleport it will launch people, and if you use it upward you appear almost precisely at their launch point to hit them with the reappearing attack, which tends to be quite gnarly since they are already quite high from the launch.
Her neutral air is a twirl almost exactly like peach except it is several hits. It hits the opponent maybe 4-5 times if you catch the opponent on the first hit of it.

Shulk - figured out his mechanic. You swap through the stances pressing b, and when you see the one you want, you simply just wait like half a second and he will stance dance automatically.
Ah, I see. Thank you (and other guy above!) Well, he is lucky (and his waifu). I hope he can hide if NintendoNinjas comes after him.I think it's all these Baby R Us stores in specific prefectures, there's probably A LOT of people all over the place, and every store is probably decently full. Again, duh. People aren't going to not hold smash tournaments because things are hard to unlock. All it does is delay big tournaments from being held because it takes longer to unlock things. And yet you would do it. And custom moves already sound easier to get than characters.
I literally never suggested we ban custom moves. You suggest that we ban an aspect of the game that is unique to this iteration of Smash, that could facilitate balance and add layers of depth to the game, and that could keep the metagame from stagnating for years, simply because it may take some time to complete?
Customizations will inevitably be unlocked for a longer period of time than they will be locked. I mean, it's not like they re-lock after you've unlocked them.
Yes! Zelda Info; looks like the Lighting Kicks got a nerf in damage and a buff in knockback, but it looks that the sourspot deals 2% more damage than in Brawl. And the Farore Wind buffs are more than confirmed now, Zelda may lost the utilt finisher, but she got a new one on Up+BI played DK and got more in-depth with Zelda.

Thanks for the info! Was Zelda's Fair and Bair sweetspot big/easy to land?I played DK and got more in-depth with Zelda.

FTFY.I literally suggested we ignore custom moves.
Music being the same for Picto-Chat means 2 out of the like 10 tracks are in. I assume it'll be Picto-Chat but what else? From Masked Man :
• Pictochat 2 is just the first Pictochat but with new drawings, like a whirlwind that sucks characters in and lifts them upward. Even the music is the same.
• Spirit Tracks music: 1) LoZ medley (pretty standard), 2) Full Steam Ahead
• Boxing Ring music: 1) Running/Countdown Medley, 2) Minor Circuit (from P-O!! Wii) (yay!)
• Mega Man's Leaf Shield just fires automatically after a sec. Running into someone with the shield active deals damage.
• Mac's aerials really suck, lol. Little damage, minimal knockback. His Jolt Haymaker might also be hard to land since it's a delayed strike (leap then swing). Still love him to death, though!
• The dead-eyed villagers are so creepy. I actually laughed out loud when the dead-eyed girl pulled up a fossil during her victory pose.
• Pac-Man's Bonus Fruit (from memory, could be a little off):
1) Cherry - short, low lob
2) Strawberry - long, low lob
3) Apple - bounces low across the stage
4) Orange - fast, straight shot
5) Melon - slow, straight shot
6) Bell - high, slow lob that shocks(?) opponents on contact
7) Galaxis - flies out and homes in on an opponent
• Pac-Man's orange plaid gloves come with pink plaid shoes, lolol

I suggested we ignore unlocking custom moves for the current argument of the length of time it takes to unlock things, because we do not in fact know if they actually will be banned. Not at all the same as "we should ban custom moves". I want custom moves to be legal. None of them look unbalanced to me so far.FTFY.
Seriously though, yes the time it takes to unlock custom moves will delay tournaments, but in all honesty I think this is a good thing. It'll give people more time to play the game and develop their skills before heading out to compete, meaning better tournaments for both the players and spectators.
