Mantises will only eat prey that they catch themselves.
Mantises will eat their prey live,
Unless they struggle, in which case they will devour their heads before feeding on the rest of the carcass.
Female mantises are very conscious of their surroundings and tend to eat their mates in the presence of stress factors (i.e. humans in lab coats) [Common myth: They always eat their mates]
Male mantises mount on their backs.

Cockroaches? Going to eat your skin cells and dirt off your body. Have egg sacks that can spawn gazillion babies. Females will eject and hide their egg sacks when sensing danger as to help [greatly] their chance of survival.

Mantises? They'll do a trippy dance and if you poke one it will do it's fighter stance and you'll be like DAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW, but if you were small enough (or it big enough) it'd get ya.
