Cape teleport is amazing. I wonder if it works on MK. I'm never close enough to the ledge while he's recovering to try it XD

Awesome job on the vid, it was very descriptive and was very clear. Only complaint I have is that you should've shown what could've happened to an opponent at high percentage (stage spike). As it stands now it wasn't very clear on how to kill with Cape Teleport.

That was a Great Vid....Is the Cape Glitch effective only on Marth? If Not, Then is it a different timing for all characters or are some characters unaffected by it.....

Doesn't work on everyone...like people with tether recovery. It doesn't work on Mario either, he just teleports behind you...Lol, like what Boss did in my video....

I probably could make that an addition to the "Edgeguarding" video, then link them to each other. I was gonna have an emphasis on stage spiking there anyway, so I guess it works. I'll also make notes in the comments.

Any more critiques/comments are welcome.

I thought that was weird

But I'm pretty sure I've done it to Mario too, as well as CF and Ganon. Maybe our timing was just different?

Someone wanna give me an opinion I can quote for FLUDD KO? I would use HeroMystic's but I think he's been in almost half of my videos, LOL.

Here's FLUDD KO...
HeroMystic said:
FLUDD KO

FLUDD KO’s are when you KO an opponent by pushing them off the stage whenever they’re charging up an attack, or using a special attack on the ground. In the cases of special attacks, if they happen to be using it on the ground, then when they’re pushed off the stage, it’ll seem as if they used it in the air, and they will either lose all their jumps, making them fall to their doom, or their special attack is so laggy that they can't make it back to the stage.

Characters affected by FLUDD KO’s
Donkey Kong (Neutral B)
Ganondorf (Warlock Punch)
Ike (Eruption/Quick Draw)
Link (Up-B)
Lucas (PK Thunder, PK Freeze)
Mario (Down-B)
Marth (Shield Breaker)
Ness (PK Thunder, PK Flash)
Snake (Nikita)
Toon Link (Up-B)
Zelda (Din's Fire)

To be honest, this shouldn’t be happening a lot, but always keep FLUDD charged for this. If the opportunity arises, use it, because this is an excellent way to get Gimp KO’s. (Especially if it’s a 0-to-death )
I'll be doing CILL next.

Anyone that has the immobile animation after a special.

I also thought it worked on Donkey Kong's punch, seeing as how he becomes immobile if he uses it in air.

I couldn't get one on Marth or Ganon, but I still intend to have footage in it.

Now about that video quote....

I didn't know it worked on that many characters O_O
Sure does. Tested on all of them too.

Yeah, the trick is finding someone dumb enough to charge it up while near the edge.

I couldn't get one on Marth or Ganon, but I still intend to have footage in it.

Out of all of them, Marth is the hardest one to pull off. Ganondorf requires a bit of anticipation as when he does the punch, he'll stop being pushed back and get locked into a frame. Marth's charges up pretty quick, and he does have the ability to make it back to the stage, granted that the stage works for him.

I'd help you out on the quote... but it sounds like I'm too good, lol.

Hey FireMario, just saw your vids since I've thought of having some fun with Mario, and if you get to characters, I can help big time vs Wario. Also, do you want to mention the Cape Glide or other cape techs like that?

Wow that luigi didn't even tornado recovery xD! I want to see if you FLudd a approach tornado by luigi.

Otherwise, FireMario you just keep getting better. Totally beast man. I might need alot of time to review my basics again for Mario.

Wow thats pretty awesome;), but I´ve a question..... what happen is that situation???, the character was paralyzed?? or can react immediately?????
The cape itself provides a temporary stun when reversed, so this indeed happens when Cape Teleport occurs. It doesn't last too long though so you have to take advantage quickly.

That's exactly why I question our ability to land a Fair out of it.

When playing a Marth, I just FLUDDed him under the stage.

what about a stage spike using SJP? It seems really reasonable to do, but i cant test because i pull it off that well yet. What characters can you cape teleport and how will you know when to cape?

Other techs

Be sure to add:

Walking Grab- You get more grab range and takes less time than pivot grab. It works nicely with the autocancel frames of B-air because when you land it you can quickly turn around and grab them.

Dash Cape- Similar to Walking Grab and easiest to see on Ice, if you press cape with proper timing during the Dash animation Cape slides Mario across the stage.

B-air Dashing- Combining the turn around distance with the initial movemnt of B-air gets you a sliding landing

Fireball Buffering- Attacking with a fireball and following with another grab or attack within a certain number of frames makes the attack 1% stronger. I have used this to get 13% with B-throw.

I showed the techs in this video:

I think it'd be possible to use the dash attack stagespike out of the cape teleport in some cases (when their hands are sticking out of the ground for instance, eh??)

Just a thought, DA stagespike rocks.

Very catchy music :).
lol thanks. Its nice being able to put in those types of music since I rarely get to hear them since they are on banned stages.

Anyway, I'll probably be releasing Cape Induced Landing Lag on Monday (Will be at a tournament on the weekend) so if someone wants to give me an opinion quote or when/how to use it that would be great!

And since its almost summer I'll probably have some extra time to make videos at a faster pace.

Cool, I will.

Cape Induced Landing Lag - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGibIxApgd8

I also have a favor to ask. Would someone be willing to send me replays of them performing the "Downward Cape Glide" and "Cape Dash?" They don't have to be in-match, just examples.

I would do it myself, but so far I can't pull them off.

Oh, the reason why that happens...you put them in the hard landing phase. Awesome.

There is no such thing as a downward cape glide...The only real way to do one is super cape off a tilted platform...

This so-called downward cape glide is actually a failed attempt trying to do a regular cape glide...Instead of gliding horizontally you fall slightly vertical...

As for cape dashing...I can't record anything atm...You can try and attempt to rip a portion out of my combo trailer...

Ha, this is a huge project, but I'm very happy to know that Mario's metagame is getting analyzed so in depth. All of your vids have been great so far, keep up the good work.

What this guy said. Your vids have really helped me pick up Mario by not only reading the information, but by actually seeing it used in the game. I check the Mario boards every day to see if you come out with a new vid XD. Thanks a lot :).

It's called Cape Dashing, do a normal cape glide but smack back on the control stick before it makes him go anywhere. It felt strange for me at first, but after a couple times the timing seemed to make sense.

CHILL should be the name, too good.
