  • lol, those thread are always BS.

TO4 will be tough, but NC will be ready, with Catfish in hand.

I'm not sure what I'm doing tomorrow. Probably going to KSK's if I'm not home. I"ll find out before noon.

funny note: whenever I read anything in my head, it's in a British voice, I think it's because I just watched Pirates...
lol yea, I was going to read it, but my dad was like "get to bed, it's late." So I had to leave. =P

For Brawl, all I have to say is, when people are at a level like you and Ali, counter-picking is the most important part of Brawl. The game is all about counter-picks because of it's defensive nature. Snake still has an advantage against MK imo, but it's a better chance than Marth. =P

As for Melee, don't get too cocky, but beating Ali in a Falcon ditto says something. Beating him almost every time in a Falco vs. Falcon match-up says more. Needless to say, beating a Falcon in a match-up in your favor doesn't say much. It all depends on how you look at it. =P (I love playing devil's advocate) You're getting better, and more comfortable with yourself as a Smasher, which is good if you're going to an OoS Melee tourney. TO4's going to be tough, and you're going to need as much confidence as you can get.

Also, I'm home now!!!! So you can call me or something. We can talk about life and smash and life again or something.
A good Marth who's great at spacing and punishing can also seize his opportunities quite well. I'm not disagreeing that Snake has an advantage, but it isn't a big one.

As for multiple d-tilts, a lot of times Marth will be able to link a few together due to human reaction slowness on Snake's part.

With good spacing, Marth has an answer to anything Snake can do. Marth can also string him quite well. The KO difference is the main reason this match-up is in Snake's favor once again.
You make some valid points, but you were really just stating everything from a positive standpoint for Snake. I'll counter by stating things on a positive standpoint for Marth.

Snake's camping actually isn't all that amazing, and only a "perfect" Snake will be able to control your approaches all that well constantly. Marth also has plenty of attacks that can detonate grenades without hurting himself (taking away some effectiveness from Snake's grenade shielding tactics).

From Snake's perspective, all you have to do is camp, punish accordingly, and not get juggled. This is also easier said than done. Snake is more or less helpless against Marth in the air since Marth's fair ***** any of his aerials, and since he is also slower in the air, you pretty much have to rely on good air dodges.

Another factor that stops this match-up from being too bad for Marth is the fact that Marth can punish almost anything Snake can do. All of Snake's tilts are unsafe on the block against Marth for example. This means one bad tilt can end up in Snake eating multiple d-tilts or being knocked into the air (which is bad news for him of course)

Thanks to Marth's quick and long attacks, he also quite good on damaging Snake during his up-b. Kills will be rare out of the cypher, but dealing a good deal of damage isn't all that uncommon.

The main point is that if Snake misses a beat, he can end up being juggled or nicely damaged over one mistake.

Marth is a better at racking up damage on Snake than Snake is on him, but the big difference in how early they can KO each other is what tips the match-up slightly in Snake's favor. You can feel free to disagree with this, but I believe this is the general consenus for both Snake and Marth players.
Snake isn't that great against Marth. A slight advantage, but nothing much.

I'll help you build more anti-Snake skills through Wi-Fi (I'm serious) if you want.
you have always been good enough man, you skill in such a short time is remarkable. Im sure we will do just fine in the tourney i just gotta hold up my end of the team
