"No Crying Until The End" is a really good phrase that fits the series well, it really should have been used outside of some Mother 1 commercials.
There is something really melancholy about abandoned youtube accounts, like abandoned accounts in general are a bit sad, but Youtube channels in general are extra sad.
The largest Vtuber is about to retire her current persona and leave her company. and her account with 4.5 Million subscribers is just going to be abandoned, all the videos will stay, but they will just be there, in the void, for as long as these servers remain. I think the comments are going to be disabled too, but the live chats will remain.
That melancholy is also why I think Unnus Annus was so effective as well.
Outside of like these big name examples, even something like, someone who just stops posting videos because they lost the drive to do more, or just switching accounts but keeping the old ones and abandoning it, I all find kinda sad
The more I think about it, I think places like limited run games might actually have done more harm to the physical market than digital games have tbh.
They did the whole "Exclusive collector's item" thing that happened with the Vinyl market, before the game industry had an entire upheaval that made the concept of actually buying things completely useless, instead of after.
Like the only reason Vinyl was able to come back as a collector's item, is because Napster and Spotify made the concept of selling music completely worthless to most people because of how easy it was to use those services. and the niche of having a phyiscal collector's item was empty for a while. (there is also the whole concerns with audio quality and authenticity)
Movies had a similar story, but the DVD and Blu-ray market still exists because of how dang cheap it is to manufacture them these days.
Music and Movies also have Concerts and Movie Theaters which are actually how these things make revenue, and games don't have an equivalent yet.

Turns out the reason every other Nintendo console either fails or is inextricably tied with controversy is because Hiroshi Yamauchi in 80s made a One More Day-esque deal with Mephisto to guarantee the success of the NES.

The games whole shtick so far has been similar looking 5 second clips at random gaming shows with a non-specific release date and no further communication. It's a baffling marketing strategy. But I mean maybe it's working so who knows.

I will say, 2 of the 3 big games they announced being Racing games is kind of a weird decision

Man Bioshocks legacy is so ****ing weird in hindsight. Like the first game is still regarded as pretty ****ing good, 2 existed, and Infinite was regarded as pretty ****ing good as well. But then there was a collective realization that it was mid and now no one talks about this series as much in general.
Like Big Daddy was in PlayStation all stars. I've seen people consider Big Daddy as much of an icon of gaming as Master Chief or Mario. Now there is none of that.

This is probably the weirdest 5 days for Nintendo ever, like they are very clearly primed and ready to talk about their next console, they even set up a god damn app that was made for delivering info about it.
But like they haven't actually talked about it yet, so they are just sorta, stuck until Wednesday Morning, and then they can do their thing.
Even for that Direct, all they had was 4 games for late this year and next year. Because they are very clearly waiting for their whole ass new console.
