For the sake of having a decent roster - Scorpion, Wacko, Neo

For my own sake - any HP character (preferably an off-beat one like Black or Scamander), Buddy, Fred
Wario Wario Wario
Wario Wario Wario
-Sub-Zero
-Neo
-Ed, Edd, n' Eddy

The first two are really just guys who should've been there from day one, while the Eds were chosen due to the high demand for classic CN I've seen in discussion of the game (as well as how CN generally is adverse to nostalgia compared to their contemporaries at Disney Channel and Nick, which would make this comeback a little more special than "here's Helga/Darkwing Duck for the 40th time") - and a personal nostalgia pick for me

In my own case, though this is just me, here's what I'd suggest:
  1. Fred Flintstone. A notable animated character who represents an overall older series, Fred feels like a great choice. He's maintained a degree of relevancy for ages, is a useful cartoon character to bring into the fray, and is also a representative of a second Hanna-Barbera series! Not only that, but I think including someone like Fred Flintstone works well to expand the game's appeal just a little beyond just what we've seen with Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry.
  2. Freddy Kreuger. Whilst he's, in this case, toned down a little so as to be less outwardly violent, I think a high-profile villain (Black Adam doesn't count) would be a solid character in the roster - and Freddy, an icon of horror cinema, would be a high-profile inclusion that would turn a lot of heads. He's also a good preliminary use of New Line's catalogue! And another Fred. Interesting.
  3. Rat Suit Pickle Rick. Yes, it's a dead meme, but it's a meme nonetheless. Picks like UI-Shaggy and LeBron seemed to get the Internet talking, and MultiVersus seems to really rely on the Internet talking about it to continue to, well, be popular. Also, I think his Rat Suit provides a wide variety of interesting moveset potential, such as the use of batteries, blades, and drills.
Admittedly, Neo came really close, as did a Mortal Kombat character, but I felt a mix of mainstream (but genuine) appeal, a surprising pull, and a "meme", would lend to a solid series that would bring people's attention back to the game somewhat. I didn't think a DC character would be interesting to a lot of people, and whilst I toyed with a CN character in Fred's place, I feel this works well across the board.

I forgot WB owns Freddy Kreuger - in which case, I'd swap Sub Zero out for him (I'd say Sub Zero is a bigger pull than Neo, but Freddy and SZ are kinda filling the same sorta aesthetic niche, which means a smaller audience pool - sci-fi, slapstick, and horror I think is pretty a well-rounded three (five?) spotlight stars for a primarily cinema based game)

Without looking at any leaks, I pick...
  • Scorpion
  • The Warners (Animaniacs; if I have to limit it to just one, it'd be Wakko)
  • Tapper (very funny)
