Which is the best 3D Fighting game series? Virtua Fighter, Tekken, or Dead Or Alive?

I know it’s pretty unlikely to happen, but I think I know how Project Altered Beast could work if it were remade and co-developed by SEGA AM1 and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio:

- Updated story with more fleshed-out characters.

- Fixed controls.

- It should be rated M for Mature. I think you know why.

- They should remake the music, compose new music, and make new arrangements of music from the original Altered Beast.

- It could be open world, where you can roam freely around the city, talk to people, do missions and play minigames and SEGA arcade games, including the original Altered Beast.

- They should rename Foret City to Forest City.

- When you play as Luke Custer (as Human), you could walk, run, jump, punch and kick, dodge-roll, interact with objects and people, use weapons (guns, close combat weapons, etc.), drive vehicles, and swim. You could enter the transformation menu anytime you wanted, on the ground, in the air, even within a vehicle (you automatically jump out of the vehicle or the vehicle gets destroyed in the process). The same goes for reverting back to Human.

- Keep the gory CGI transformations, but maybe don’t have them play EVERY SINGLE TIME you transform, at least not during heated affairs with enemies and bosses. And make new transformation scenes for Weretiger.

- Make Luke's Health, Spirit Energy (Beast Form), attacks and combos, and other Human abilities upgradable.

- The player should be able to lock on to enemies and bosses.

- Garuda, Dragon, and U.W.H. (Unidentified Weightless Human) could be able to fly freely in the sky.

- Werewolf, Wendigo, Grizzly, and Weretiger could be able to climb buildings. Werewolf and Weretiger would be faster, and Wendigo and Grizzly would be slower but more difficult to get knocked or shot off the wall.

- Werewolf and Weretiger could make huge jumps to get from one building to another.

- Wendigo would be much bigger and be able to lift cars, trucks, and other large objects.

- Merman could be used underwater, as well as on land, but his attacks would be more effective in water.

- When used for transformations, your Spirit Energy would slowly decrease while in Beast Form. But it could slowly recharge over time, and you can get it back by getting to a Save Point.

- All beasts should be able to jump.

- Attacks and combos should be quicker and easier to perform. Each attack and combo should be able to register the player's button mashing.


- Cool locations. (Temples, snowy and rocky mountains, jungles, forests, swamps, cities, towns, villages, ocean, islands, deserts, caves, laboratories, power stations, space, etc.)

- Awesome (but hopefully balanced) enemies and bosses (Evil Genome-Cyborgs, mutants, undead (zombies, skeletons, etc.), demons, mythical creatures, aliens, etc.)

- Co-op multiplayer. (Online and offline)

- An arcade mode that's similar to the original Altered Beast.

- A combat mode where you can choose a Beast Form and an arena, and fight each other like in Virtua Fighter.

- New Beasts and new transformations.

What do these two franchises have in common?

Everybody loves Oblivion, right? But probably not for the reasons Bethesda intended. So, if you’re new to the Elder Scrolls and you plan on playing Oblivion seriously, expecting big things (especially for the combat system), then you might be disappointed. But if you’re playing it just for laughs, then you’ll have lots of fun, so screw around to your heart’s content.

We need SEGA to bring back Shinobi, Golden Axe, and Altered Beast, and I think I know how they can do it:

- Remakes of Shinobi (2002), Nightshade/Kunoichi, and Shinobi (2011)/Shinobi 3D, and a new Shinobi game where you play as Joe Musashi and Hotsuma.

- A new Golden Axe game co-developed by DotEmu, Lizardcube, and Guard Crush Games (the developers of Streets of Rage 4).

- A remake of Project Altered Beast (the gritty PS2 re-imagining of Altered Beast that North America never got) co-developed by SEGA AM1 (formerly Team Shinobi in the late 80s and the early 90s, WOW Entertainment (SEGA WOW), and Overworks (SEGA AM7)) and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio (the developers of Yakuza/Like A Dragon, Judgment, Lost Judgment, and Super Monkey Ball), and a sequel.

Ah, come to think of it, they should also remake AND make a sequel to Alien Storm.

Someday, I’d love to play Pizza Tower, Antonball, and AntonBlast (after it fully releases), because they all seem to take inspiration from Wario Land. Although, Pizza Tower seems more like a mix of Wario Land 4 and Sonic, because of its fast-paced gameplay.

And AntonBlast seems to be like a mix between Wario Land 4 and Crash Bandicoot.

I think I’d also take influence from certain video game composers, such as Koji Kondo, Nobuo Uematsu, Yoko Shimomura, Yuzo Koshiro, Jeremy Soule, Akira Yamaoka, Yasunori Mitsuda, Harry Gregson-Williams (even though he's a film score composer), Norihiko Hibino, Martin O'Donnell, Michiru Yamane, and others.

We need Capcom to remake Shadow of Rome (because it was basically their precursor to Dead Rising) using RE Engine. And make a sequel, if possible.

Apparently, there’s a book that analyzes Wario Land 4 and teaches aspiring game designers to make Wario-likes (or platformers in general). Now if only there were a book that analyzes Character Action games (ex. Devil May Cry, Ninja Gaiden Black, God of War) and teaches you to make such games…

You know what I think seems to be a common trope in anime (at least Shonen anime) and a few JRPGs? They almost always have a protagonist that's reckless and stupid. I wonder why?

You wanna know something about The Twin Snakes' ridiculous cutscenes? The cinematographer, Ryuhei Kitamura, wanted to faithfully recreate the cutscenes from the original game, but Kojima insisted that he did the cutscenes in his own style. So, if you need someone to blame for The Twin Snakes' ridiculous cutscenes, blame Kojima.

The soundtrack could also have some rock/metal, orchestral, and ethnic/oriental elements.

I may or may not have asked this before, but I’d like to play the modern Ninja Gaiden trilogy someday, but I’m still not sure which version of the first one I should play. Should I play Ninja Gaiden (2004), Ninja Gaiden Black, or Ninja Gaiden Sigma (Master Collection)?

I’d also love to make my own arrangements and remixes of video game music (Nintendo, SEGA, Konami, Bandai Namco, Capcom, Square Enix, SNK, Rare, Atlus, etc.) in a variety of genres and sub-genres of music.

Which is the best game in the Fable Trilogy? Fable 1 (The Lost Chapters/Anniversary), Fable II, or Fable III?

I hope Fable IV will have much, MUCH more Expressions, especially Extended Expressions (which may or may not include farting).

If I were a video game composer, I’d take a lot of influence from a variety of genres, including progressive rock and jazz fusion.

If or when I have enough experience with game design, and hopefully a big enough budget, I’d like to make my own graphic adventure/visual novel game, which takes inspiration from Snatcher and Policenauts, especially in terms of writing, music, cinematics, and light gun segments.

I’d also like to make my own RPG inspired by a few certain JRPGS, which also has a moral (Good/Evil) system, similar to that of games like Fable, inFamous, Mass Effect, and Star Wars: Knights of the Republic.

I find it funny how none of the Final Fantasy games seem to be connected at all, but they have some of the same creatures and monsters, like Chocobos, Cactuars, and even Ifrit. And I think some characters have the same name in every game, like Cid.

We need Bethesda to remake The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard as a full open world action-adventure RPG, with a formula similar to that of Prince of Persia and Tomb Raider, which is what they originally intended for that game.

I think when Bethesda came up with the Empire, including the Imperial Legion, for the Elder Scrolls, they were inspired by Ancient Rome.

I don’t know much about Elder Scrolls lore, but you know what I think the Dunmer (Dark Elves) of Morrowind and the Nords of Skyrim have in common? They're racist. Although, from what I heard about Morrowind, the Dunmer used to enslave Beastfolk, meaning Argonians and Khajiit. And that’s arguably even worse.

The Elder Scrolls VI could also use a fame and infamy system, because Skyrim seems to be missing that, and stats from Morrowind and Oblivion, including Acrobatics and Athletics.

There should also be a DLC Quest in Elder Scrolls VI where you go to Hammerfell. Or the Elder Scrolls VI could take place IN Hammerfell. Either way, it might be nice.

Which is the best version of Jeremy Soule's Elder Scrolls theme? Nerevar Rising (Morrowind), Reign of the Septims (Oblivion), or Dragonborn (Skyrim)?

You know what I think each hero in the Elder Scrolls series has in common, including the Nerevarine, the Hero of Kvatch/Champion of Cyrodiil, and the Dragonborn? They all have an identity crisis. Because there are quests aside from the Main Quests where you can join guilds.

You know why I think Oblivion's voice acting is pretty strange? As it turns out, the voice actors were given their lines with no context of the game at all, and they were given to them in alphabetical order. Weird, I know. Still, the voice actors did a pretty good job.

There should be an Oblivion AI mod where the NPCs are just fed up with the player’s annoying antics.

Do you think Bethesda knew people were gonna treat Oblivion like a joke, especially the NPCs and their "radiant" AI, and be as chaotic with their annoying antics in the game as they wanted?

For The Elder Scrolls VI, they should make a DLC Quest for Cyrodiil and use music from Oblivion. After all they did a Skyrim DLC Quest for Solstheim (Morrowind) and used music from Morrowind.

If you think about it, even though they’re years apart, the two songs I Can't Go For That (No Can Do) by Hall and Oates and I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That) by Meat Loaf have similar messages.

You know, it’s funny how Dude, Where's My Car? is considered a stoner movie, and yet, they don’t smoke any pot in the movie at all. In fact, the only scene where they smoke pot is with that one guy and his dog.

You know what sucks in an RPG? When they permanently kill off one of your party members, and you realize you’ve been too focused on them, like you put your best equipment on them or spent hours level grinding them for nothing. And you realize you’ve mostly been ignoring your other party members like a jackass.

On the bright side, they’ll get replaced with a new party member who’s just as good. Of course, you may have to level them up.

You know what's a good Squaresoft (or Enix) RPG that Square Enix could remake in their HD-2D style? Secret of Evermore. And they could get Jeremy Soule to do the music.
