I don't know if the Wario Land devs intentionally gave Wario a character arc, but I do really like this reading of the series - especially when you take WarioWare (where Wario has a large group of friends who usually show him respect) into account as happening after WL.

I think Windows alone could actually make a pretty cool fighting roster. The Office Assistants, their Bob counterparts, Inori Aizawa, the SkiFree yeti, Purbles, the default PFPs from XP, the default wallpapers from 7, Chip McCallahan, so on... and that's not even getting to characters from third party applications like Vocaloid or Mavis Beacon.

The biggest question I have about Learning with Pibby is: how would a cartoon within a cartoon, such as Itchy & Scratchy, function in this multiverse?
I feel that the less funny a Simpsons season is, the more funny the pun signs in the background are.
If the "Mario Mandates" don't exist and really are just a bunch of superstitions and mistranslations, I wonder what drove the devs of Mario spin-offs to stop creating (and reviving) unique characters and species at seemingly the same time.
For as much as I generally dislike gimmicky Smash/platform fighter movesets, I adore movesets that naturally work off of themselves like Wario's.

If any game series deserves the Crash 4 "begin from square 2" treatment, it's Yoshi. Yoshi's Island is a ****ing masterpiece, up there with Wario Land 4 and DKC2 as some of the best the Mario expanded universe has to offer, and then the sequels are just so mind-numbingly... meh. Woolly World is probably the closest Yoshi has got to a return to form, but even then it suffered a lot of the same problems as YIDS, Universal Gravitation, Story, and New Island. (particularly a lack of innovation, difficulty, and willingness to break from the Yoshi formula)
I think UniGrav and Story at the very least had creative characters and worlds, but there's not much to look back on with Crafted, YIDS, and New Island other than the simultaniously simplistic-and-absurd time travel plots and the latter's music.
