  • Thanks! I'll keep that in mind. :D

I went to see Toy Story 3 today. What a great movie. I heard that for 1 frame of animation it took seven hours of computing time. And that Woody's face has 115 points of movement. Wow.
Actually, I have been considering it. I got into making animation just last year, so I'm still not very good at it. And none of it is CGI. But I have always been a fan of the general arts, and film caught my attention, so I went out and bought a few books about it. I've also read up about it in magazines. However, right now I'm not very sure what exactly I want as a career, because I'm interested in so much. But film is definately up there along with linguistics, biology/chem/physics, computer sciences, and National Geographic.:p

In fact, I've been considering taking an internship with Nat Geo, since I live so close to its DC base. And I hear you have an internship with Disney/Pixar, right?
I believe he was working on developing stereoscopic filming techniques. He used it to create composite 3D background models for Mons Veritas and the humans' unobtanium rigs. This helped him capture all of the tiny details without having to create them from scratch on a computer, and to make production of the actual 3D version of the film less time consuming.

However, the setup I mentioned was used to get detailed close-up shots of the actors' moving faces to later convert into the precise, realistic, and believable CGI of the Na'vi and Avatars' faces.
Thanks, I will next time I get the chance to do so, I'd love some critique and help with my (terribad) PT.
Ah, about the last bit, where Louis and Ray were animated in 2D rather than 3D, to make their personalities more believable. James Cameron encountered the same problem while filming and CGI rendering the characters from Avatar. Isn't the problem referred to as the something-or-the-other-valley? Ugh, I can't recall.

Well anyhow, the valley led James to use the face-pointing technique, where he dotted the actors' key facial muscles then outfitted their helmets with cameras.
Mm, I agree. Louis is probably the films most imaginative, if not, charismatic character.

But what I enjoyed the most were the musical scenes. They were by far the topping on top of the theatrical cake. My favorite was "I'm Almost There", I believe it was called. I like how they switched to retro collage-art.

But, I thought I remember Disney saying it was done with traditional animation techniques? Because I saw quite a bit of non-traditional CGI thrown in there, i.e., the Shadow Man's tarot cards, the moss in the bayou, etc.
Ok word I got 3 more vids up....just unfortunately they are from march where I was still doing dumb **** so I got em up anyway
Word well thanks zigsta its good to know man and btw I will be uploading I believe about 3 to 4 more vids against ryko again so if they are solid enough youll get a big thanks lol
Ok fair enough zigsta....so I take it ryko is not a good enough opponent or is it just that I havent gotten videos up in quite a bit of time?
**** thats good to hear man....well then I'll try and get some up.

Any chance you could gimme some advice to maybe help me get into the PTBR I've really wanted to get in to get some real knowledge and speak with the victory road champs lol
Lol thanks zigsta Im deff learning alot and placing better for a reason so hopefully I can get to more tournies

....I should get some more videos soon just ryko kinda slowed down alot so I have gotten a chance to get vids up, but I mean no offense I dont seem to get much response out of the boards.. you really think they wanna see my vids
I don't get to play Bowser's either :p. He's so different to fight. Atleast as Luigi. I mean against a lot of characters I can usually, if I mixup well, hit people's shield and not get punished, but Bowser'll punish like everything that isn't disjointed lol

Are you gonna be going to more SoCal tournies? And when are you going back to Texas again?
Haha I've seen you post before, but only ever recognized your posts from that crocodile avy you have :p

I KNEW I had heard your name from somewhere, though. Was cool meeting you today. Those Bowser vs Luigi matches were fun :3
Yes, but Ursa would have to take a hit on the switch-in and 90/75/75 defenses is rather "meh" when you consider that there'll be little-to-no investment in HP/Defense/SpDef AND he'll be taking 12% on the switch-in anyway (more if they get SR up).
I'd rather run Twave/Agility/BP/Double Hit if I'm using Ambi like that, but the chance of taking a hit is still pretty high.

And yeah, Dunsparce is a douche with the right EV spread. Headbutt/Bite/Roost/Glare is too funny. XD
    That's crazy. He's low-tier, like Pokemon Trainer.

By the way, making a mono-normal team. Suggestions?
Currently have Clefable, Snorlax, Togekiss, Porygon2.
Considering Dunsparce, Staraptor, Ambipom, Delcatty, Ursaring.
ah okay... i'm using vegas pro and i think i sorta got it. doesn't look as clean as i'd like atm though

    thanks ^^
Sorry I haven't logged on in forever. You have awesome ideas. I'll look at all of them and see if I can give you some ideas. We both need to attend the same tournament
