Hmmm yeah I guess I didn't expect you to feel that way about the difficulty of hosting events. I personally just stress over stuff so two games wouldn't be what I would want to do for my first time hosting regardless of what I actually want to do.
You didn't have to listen. I was biased in telling you that(though I justified it well I believe), just as you are biased in telling me to have Brawl.
Honestly, if there weren't freaking Brawl bi-weeklies then I'd host Brawl at my tournament too.
could the same be said for Melee bi-weeklies? Yes. does that mean we have lots of both kinds of events? yes. Would it be easier for me to host one game since it will be my first time hosting? Yes. Should I have the right to host whatever I want to anyway? I think so.
Alright, you're clearly missing what I'm trying to tease out of this. That, or you just don't want to say it. I don't care which it is.
Which games are run at a tournament is the sole decision of the TO. He has to go through the work of setting everything up and getting a venue squared away, as well as keep a somewhat tight schedule for events to finish up. I think the TO at least deserves to have total control over what he wants to run for what he's trying to sacrifice for.
You telling me that I need to host both for the community is bull. Did you know that there are states that have no Brawl? Others with no Melee? This is because all of the TOs host whichever game they feel like hosting, and those that support the other game either have to deal with it or host their own tournament(or travel). Aside from alllll of this, we already have Brawl bi-weeklies as well as brawl at Billfests. There is no brawl shortage here.
Doubtful on that last part.
Our situations aren't that different, but they are about as different as they could be considering TOs can only have so much to work with. Not sure what you're getting at there.
I'm almost tempted to ask for your reasoning on that but I know it won't do any good.

I'd like for it to happen, but again, the work involved in getting a club set up, as well as getting a tournament together would be kinda stressful.
It's for the purposes of hosting tournaments and stuff.
You're being too hopeful with this. The point is to get Wake to host a tournament with me running the rules.

uhhhhh, sorta. I'd have to start a club and then rent a room or something. I'm not sure. Bill and Slasher bro and DJ Rome know more about this sort of thing than I do.
Dealing with venue owners too? Heeeck no. I'd host it at Wake. There's work involved there too, but it's not quite as big of a deal.
I might do it. Getting it set up seems so stressful though.

Sorry stingerz that i couldn't make it. I told Alex (and I think Bill also) since i had their numbers that I couldn't make it this time. My crewmates and little brother all had other things to do that they had booked for the weekend. I was bummed out for sure for a while after i had heard at short notice. I'll most likely be at the next Billfest for sure because the timing will be a lot better for my brother and crewmates. I normally don't feel like going if my little brother or some of my team doesn't come to root me on. Everyone else at the tourney seems to busy at times and I sort of rely on the support of my 'team' to keep me up through the night. But again I apologize for not showing.
Great job at the rankings. I hope i can give the test and change up the rankings even more next time ^_^.
