Even though there's like a 99.9999% chance that Geno is in the game, I'm still going to cry like a ***** when I see his trailer.

The last couple of times they removed the "New" tag we got a new character announcement within (I believe) 10 days. So I think it's fair to say that we'll be getting a newcomer soon. Edit: I'm going to take a wild, out-there crazy man guess and say it's Incineroar.

Yeah but King K. Rool is from Donkey Kong Country, a game series that will have future releases. Also, he was planned for Tropical Freeze so you can't even say he wasn't going to show up again. Still though, I haven't seen this alleged quote so I don't think it holds any water.
