just to clear some confusions of comments i've seen, items aren't bad because they change the tier list, they're bad because of randomness. also, contrary to the EVO organizers' expectations, they encourage campiness for certain characters.

when the match is on the line, everyone starts to feel pressure; succeeding under such conditions is generally esteemed and accepted as an important skill in any sport. overemphasis on "fairness" would cause a huge sacrifice.
