Late on this, but I can't say I'm surprised. Making Metal Slug the old-fashioned way in this genre was not gonna be quick.
Of all the characters in fiction to rally behind for MultiVersus community-wise, Walter White is kind of a random pick.
I don't knock it at all (since he can work with enough wiggle room), but I just find it a bit of an odd situation.

Being cautious with my judgement in regards to recent events, all that I will say is that Koichi Sugiyama had contributed greatly to what gave Dragon Quest its identity with his music, and that legacy will be felt for years to come.

That definitely inspires a lot of confidence. Between the first and latest trailers, we know of at least 8 TMNT villains that are in this, and yet it still doesn't feel like they've shown all of the bosses, let alone if there will be any secret surprises to find.
2022 hasn't even started yet and it's already put a bounty on my paycheck. I can't imagine how much damage the next Direct will do to it.
It's funny to think that the beat em up Rescue-Palooza had playable April a few years before it became official.

As far as new characters go, I guess that expecting the gorilla seen in Ed's ending was a bit much.
