METROID: OTHER M THIS SUMMER!! WOOOOOOT!! So that's at least 3 major titles this year, with S&P2 coming early next year. I wonder what they're going to call Zelda Wii?
You're forgetting the next generation of Pokemon, but indeed. The next Legend of Zelda installment shall be epic.

Oh, it will. :) I may sound overly optimistic, but it has had a development time of approx. 5 years.
No, it has had a development time of four years, at the very least. It came out in Japan on December 2nd, 2006. We've had Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks released since then. I'd imagine that the Zelda Team has only been working on Zelda Wii for about 2-3 years now.

As much as I'd love Zelda Wii to come out this summer, or even this year, I doubt we'll be seeing it until sometime in 2011. A Zelda game without delays doesn't exist.

But with the break in tradition within the game, perhaps they'll break their tradition outside the game in its deliverance on time.

I thought it was established somewhere they began development before TP even was shipped.

Either way, it's a long development. If I don't hear any delays for Metroid or Mario, and they say Zelda will come out this year, I may have to believe them.

Maybe...

Yeah, this is it. They've been working on this for around four years now. Though, given the many interviews we've had since, whatever they had ca. 2006 was probably completely trashed or reworked. Just because they've been "working on it" since then, doesn't mean they made any real progress. Could have just been a period of conceptualization and such. Besides, WiiMotion+ was not around then, or Monster Hunter Tri, OR the final product of TP, OR the DS Zelda team, all of which are foundations for Zelda Wii. The game probably started real development in 2008, 2007 at the earliest.

Er, since when is Monster Hunter a foundation for this game, outside of pushing the dev team to have better or comparable graphics?
That exactly. Better graphics = shift in the development of models, textures, and overall visual scope. That's a big part of the development process.

Yeah but you'd assume Nintendo already had "good graphics" high on their priority list, hmm?
The fact that Aonuma specifically pointed out Monster Hunter Tri as a graphical base for the Zelda Team to try and surpass is important to note. I don't have a doubt in my mind that they had good graphics high on the priority list from the getgo, but upon seeing the grandeur of Monster Hunter Tri's visuals, Aonuma felt that they had to do better. So not long ago, the graphics were either on par with MHT, or lesser. I'm glad that they're aiming to make the most visually impressive game on the Wii thus far.

Nintendo probably hasn't even THOUGHT of a name for it. :p
Exactly why it sounds like BS, just like his claim that he has a copy of a new pokemon game that hasn't been released yet and I think will be for 5th gen... another load of bull crap

Anyways, when this comes out, Ill be buying

Hopefully it will explain the events between MM and TP, including the Seal War and the Dark Interlopers. Where else could they fit it in the timeline, after ST? An indirect TP sequel, perhaps?
Lots of rumours I have heard from various ppl say that, It is going to be a sequel to OoT on the child timeline., and I know I know How could that be if MM is already it? Well these guys think that link did something bad imbetween OoT and MM that makes him need to leave to find navi and escape from hyrule. Or something. Wierd right?

It couldn't be that, though, because Adult Link is the Link the concept art, so scratch that for now until we have some evidence that Child Link plays a role in this game.

Of course it could still be a sequel, just some 7-10 years later when Link has naturally aged into an adult.

Yes, but then it would be a MM sequel, which I mentioned as a possibility, likely to be the most probable possibility.
Which is exactly as I implied...

Oh wait, AngryMoblyn thinks it's going to come between OoT and MM? Now that's just ridiculous. No, if it's another Hero of Time game, it will be a sequel to MM, based several years later.

Or just as Frown said, will be something entirely different — which is always a huge possibility.

but they also announced that there would be time travel ......so?

@ spireIV: I dont think that. I quite frankly find it rediculous, but its good just to find evidence for it or aginst it. After all this is a debating site isnt it? :D

Did they actually announce time travel? I can't remember that. If it does play a big part in the next game, I hope they do something really radical and different with it,.
They did announce that. Also they said they are not going to be doing the usual dungeon to field, dungeon , to field thing either.

Spire VI* thank you. There is absolutely no reference that "Link screwed up" between OoT and MM. Nothing. Please cite your sources.

No, merely one of the leaked rumors from 2chan (Japanese equivalent to 4chan), which is reknown for being very accurate in many, many of their past leaks. They leaked the entire stories and premises of WW and TP and all of the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts games iirc.

Good Game...

Now on to my rambling....

I want a new Villain just like in TP but I want it to flip instead of Zant < Ganon I want (Insert here) > Ganon. That would be so awesome to make it all the way through the game thinking Ganondorf was in charge of everything than you have like 2 more temples knowing you've already slayed Ganondorf but (Insert name here) is who really is responsible for everything. Then after you do all that he takes Ganondorf's body and then Ganon comes. That would be the ****. And, they bring in a few major characters that would get killed before the end of the game.

I know that may not be cool to some of you, but if you take it into careful consideration it would be ******. It wouldn't have to be entirely like that but if there were somebody that Ganon couldn't even defeat that would be epic. Maybe he could be like a fallen version of Din that Ganon corrupted and then Ganon got played.

I want a shiiiiiiiiiit load of cutscenes with Ganon. There wasn't enough Ganon in the last game is probably my only complaint.

^ Check the "Is Ganon over-used?" thread. We're pretty much all supporting that idea.

Give it a chance first. If Nintendo actually does give Zelda Wii Vitality Censor compatibility (highly unlikely), they'd at least do it for a good reason. Just see what they're gonna do with it first, if they even do anything with it.

Nope. I draw the line in the sand here. Buy Wii Motion Plus, and the Vitality Sensor? No ****ing way.

You're right, this won't happen, but that Miyamoto would even dream such a thing pisses me off. Gaming is going to a rich-only hobby sooner or later.
