Smash Legend
Probably, but honestly I don't see any overarching value in casual play it makes a game something you pick up and stop playing in a few hours/days/weeks, competitive playstyle gives it some lasting value.

Even in casual play among friends, we were always looking up the button combos or the combos or finishers for our characters. We were still competitve amongst each other, and I can't see playing a game where the ultimate goal isn't to win.I feel like Smashboards is a different dimension than the real world sometimes, lol.
It's like casual play doesn't exist...... and when it does, it's still competitive. ;;
It's not so much that it's not a minority opinion, it's just not fair to hold your opponent to standards of what his/her playstyle should be.& that proves my point, lol.
There's nothing wrong with it really, I just think it's funny that y'all think in a very minority way but immediately assume everyone else values the same things y'all do.
I mean, when mountain said he didn't like the game for a lack of character selection, his opinion wasn't taken at face value...... it immediately jumped to "disproving" his opinion by saying low number of characters =/= bad game. But for someone who might be playing the game at a casual level (dunno if he is or not, just saying if he does), the number of characters is something that can influence how fun the game is.
The whole time, I was thinking: maybe he just wants a game where he can have some variety, geezus, lol. Let the man complain about it.
You call it spamming; I call it effectively playing. Why should a player who is winning matches with only 10 moves ever use more than that? If he isn't predictable or able to be stopped, then why would he use 30-40 moves?
Effective strategy is better than diverse strategy.
but we play Zelda and only use like 2 moves 80% of the time D:Two reasons: it gets predictable after a while, and also it's really, really, really boring.
same hereWhen I play for fun, I still try to win.
if i know the whole group is casual and its not my Wii i'll leave all the items and w/e on. casually on mines i have the items off but go pretty much any stage except those giant caves and mario bros.Competitive play isn't fun?
And honestly, if the other guy wants to play competitive it's very difficult to force them not to... well except in smash, but it's unlikely they'll actually be willing to play with all items on high, hyrule only, 4 player Ganon dittos.
Sweet, I knew I wasn't the only person with training partners like that.
i thought i was the only one who thought this, glad im not lolI feel like Smashboards is a different dimension than the real world sometimes, lol.

Well, I don't intend on entering any tourneys any time soon, so I guess that would put me more on the casual 'just have fun' end rather than aiming to the best of the best. Having more characters just seems... comforting somehow. Like, if you get bored of a character, you have plenty of others to choose from, but if you only have 12 or so you may find you're soon bored of all of them...& that proves my point, lol.

Brawl is different. It's more based around mobility, so having less moves isn't such a big issue. Whereas in the Tekken series characters can only jump once, fall like rocks compared to Brawl characters, are basically in constant helpless mode if launched, running backwards doesn't work etc. etc.but we play Zelda and only use like 2 moves 80% of the time D:
even casually i still only use like 7 moves even out of Tekkens ginormous movesets Zafina is the only one who i use more than 10 different actions
Clever cover up, baby <3possible, however unlikely
We should all list the fighters we've played growing up, and who we played in them!!Prepare yourself for old fighter titles...
Mortal Kombat: Sonya
Mortal Kombat II: Rayden (was pissed Sonya was gone)
Street Fighter II: Chun-Li
Killer Instinct: Orchid
Kata........ lolol.Right. I need to know this!!! HOW DO YOU MULTIQUOTE? I click it and the box highlights and then I'm like... "what now?"
Thank you for your mum's pot contribution... because that's all she's good for... using pots to cook.... because she eats so much that you need three bus trips to get on her good side.Thankyou for your pot contribution, yet again, kAyLo!
Its part of the design. i wanted to enclose Zelda and i had to reverse the J to do that.JZ, why is the J in your sig backwards?
Just curious. o.o
tried to get me during my multiquote earlier. i </3 crashboardsWelcome Back Crashboards!!

i used to have a ton of favs in fighters, but i guess over time i've cut down on how many i have subconsciously. SC is the only one where i still play as alot of the cast and thats cause my CAW all have different weapons.Well, I don't intend on entering any tourneys any time soon, so I guess that would put me more on the casual 'just have fun' end rather than aiming to the best of the best. Having more characters just seems... comforting somehow. Like, if you get bored of a character, you have plenty of others to choose from, but if you only have 12 or so you may find you're soon bored of all of them...
my line at Zelda was more of a joking comparison. it is vastly different from most fighters and i guess thats why i still like it.....Brawl is different. It's more based around mobility, so having less moves isn't such a big issue. Whereas in the Tekken series characters can only jump once, fall like rocks compared to Brawl characters, are basically in constant helpless mode if launched, running backwards doesn't work etc. etc.
sure she's unsafe as hell, but mixing up well can lead to the most satisfying of frustration groans from your opponent.I tried Zafina out, but she's too unsafe to really enjoy playing as. So I'm sticking with Alisa, Anna, Nina and Lili at the moment. The funny thing is that around a quarter of people online are so poor I could literally use nothing but Alisa's db+3 to destroy them since they don't realise that you can block low or low crush or sidestep or parry...
orly now?We should all list the fighters we've played growing up, and who we played in them!!![]()
That's because Vex is an ******* :DWe tried to play casual Special Brawl friendlies with Vex at Pound 4, but he knew all these combos and infinites and ****.
In Giant Metal 300% Low Gravity bull**** Brawl.
Totally killed it. ;;
Tekken (every game except Tekken Advance): Used to be Xiaoyu and Jun primarily in TTT, with a bunch of other characters I fought as for laughs. Stuck with Xiaoyu until Tekken 6, and through that time have played Nina, Anna and Asuka mainly. Now I've stuck with Alisa, Anna, Lili and Nina.We should all list the fighters we've played growing up, and who we played in them!!![]()
Yeah, it's a NA copy. I keep forgetting you're in the US..... for some reason, I thought you were one of the European Zeldas.at least yours isn't an EU copy right? i hear EU and NA are on different servers
