People 2-stock me consistently and then say my Greninja is great, I'm like "Whaaa."
That's kind of how I felt when playing Vermanubis's Ganon with my Game & Watch. He said that I had the best of that character he had seen, though he regularly beat me (I took a few games off of him but not a lot). Then again I'm sure Verm is just a better player than me so it wasn't too bad.

I'm just a really inconsistent player though I'm at least above average. I pull off some stuff that manages to surprise even me but it's not always for the best. For example, one time in Brawl, I managed to tech a spike as Bowser then failed to recover anyway. Also Brawl, I somehow managed to DI and get hit by one Thunder attack twice as Jigglypuff. On a better note, in one Melee tournament, I lost the first match against a player. I proceeded to 4-stock him twice.

Actually playing to win at my beat takes a lot out of me. There's a reasony online icon is a sandbag. lol.

Anyone ever get that feeling where you wish you could forget that you played a game that you loved, just so you could experience it all over again?
Every Etrian Odyssey/7th Dragon game.

Worse yet because the games have predictable/manipulatable RNG, so if you're savvy to that sort of thing a lot of boss fights become "do this so this status effect is guaranteed to work, then do this so the boss doesn't do anything important this turn, then kill him next turn gg" or "hey if I move like this for awhile I'll get x encounter and a ton of experience, easy levels!"

Seriously though, why the F is halberd still legal?
Music imo

@Nammy12 tell your sis I say GGs. She's gotten a lot better from last time.

@ S.F.L.R_9 S.F.L.R_9 Here's what I found out about Squall in the Rosalina match up. When the windbox pushes away rosalina, Luma and rosalina are separated. Also when the ending Hitbox hits both of them, Luma will be in hit stun so we can get rid of him.

That's pretty cool! But idk if it's worth giving up 50% elevator kills for that

We actually all use Diddy. We just aren't aware of our actual secret prowess with Diddy

I think False tried using Lucina at Roll 'em up but he was beaten by NAKAT's Falcon. He switched to ZSS for the second match.

That's all I got

YEAH. YOU HEARD!?

Personally, I'm more curious as to why Lylat Cruise is legal.
I'd rather put up with a low ceiling and easy to avoid hazards than Lylat's finnicky ledges.

I think most games that we spend a lot of time on, we end up finding ways to "cheese" through it, may that be by glitching, or simply using your best options. Cause many people get to that point in the game where they feel lazy, or maybe they just want to just use their OP gear, cause hell, they spent ages farming/working for it.

In rpgs, you end up using the best armor(s), weapon(s), skills/perks/etc. In fighting games, we try to flesh out our character as much as possible (research, training, frame data, etc), and try to find ways to get near-guaranteed combos/follow-ups, and the likes. And so on.

Still. Even before we start finding ways to make the game easy, we can't deny how amazing it was the first time we played it. I guess there's a certain beauty to experiencing a wonderful game for the first time. Not to say the game gets worse over time, but instead, it becomes more of an acceptance of having enjoyed it - and though you may still enjoy it to a certain extent, it won't ever feel the same.

My bf and I have both been meaning to try Xenoblade for awhile (especially him, since I'm tied enough with enough games right now as it is). Which would you recommend to start with, or is there an actual chronological order I should follow?

Good taste. Rydia's also my personal pick in FFIV

I almost got Lylat'd way too much. It's hilarious as ****

@ Nairo Nairo I saw a GIF of you getting Hoo Hah (BOOM'd) by some Diddy at like.. 60%? ;-; (One of the things that made me skeptical about customs). I mean you still won, but... dayum. I still couldn't believe that actually worked

So aMSa is using Pikachu now? He really is the Pokémon king of Smash 4.

Yoshi's really easy to use at a basic level in this game but hard at a high one. I just fought one while going random and while I struggled with characters I don't use, when I got someone like Ganondorf or Little Mac I beat him pretty easily (even losing my first stock as Mac at like 20% to FSmash cheese). Almost no eggs smh.

Welp, time for Greninja to be nerfed again.

Yes, I know, well meme'd.
Speaking of characters getting nerfed/buffed, I'd love it if G&W got buffed even just minor buffs would do (I'd still prefer a straight up buff, but hey whaddyagonnado).

Indeed, playing through something you aren't familiar with is much more enjoyable than replaying something you've already done, especially when it's a game you can get down to a science. I can't even play EO2 or EO3 casually anymore because I have a moderate understanding of how the RNG works, what enemy/boss weaknesses and resists are, etc. and in turn-based RPGs where the skill involved is literally "What decision are you going to make?" it feels pointless and wrong to not be making the optimal decisions.

Which is kind of why I was routing EO2 and 7th Dragon for speedrunning awhile back, but I don't have the patience to run an entire game without breaks for 3~5 hours, and I'm sloppy with menus. But if I can't enjoy the games casually, playing through them as fast as possible (or at least figuring out how to) seems like the next best thing.

That all said, I tend to not replay games for the mentioned reasons. Kind of sad, but it is what it is...though it is genre dependent too, like action/platformers tend to have much better replay value.

It all makes sense now. aMSa's dad is Sakurai and he knows another Greninja nerf's coming before EVO, so he's switching to Pikachu.

God damn it Sakurai.

He used Lucario in PM too when he played that. I think he's just determined to only play Pokemon in games he doesn't play Yoshi in.
