Still on time for the VGC talk?
I uset to play Pokémon a lot until ORAS and how VGC was all about the Weather Trio.
I mean, XY had M-Kangaskhan as the meta-shaping force, but at least it could be worked around.

I do agree with the Gorilla here. M-Kang did change the meta of VGC quite nicely, and then VGC 2014 showed how deadly Gothitelle and Pachirisu are... and then VGC 2015... yeah, let's not talk about that. Oversaturation in Top 8 of Masters.

I'm hoping to see some good stuff during VGC 2016, and maybe some really unusual stuff. I'd go nuts if someone ends up using a Joltik. (I suddenly remember that I ran a Joltik on one VGC team once. It was a very annoying Joltik. Focus Sash, Timid [252 Speed, 252 SAtk, 6 HP] along with Compound Eyes, Protect, Gastro Acid, Discharge and String Shot. Used it because I LOVE Joltik. <3)

Oh, it seems I've been missing a lot of good gorl talk in my abscence. I miss you guys! If anyone ever wants to play any time soon I'm down, I'm on break for this week so whenever is good.

I have a weekly tonight but I'm not going because I feel light headed and really tired, so I'm just going to stay home. I have to house-sit and watch my sister's dog anyways, but just let me know if any of you guys ever wanna play any time soon. Them Zelda buffs though... :251: Too bad she's still trash.

What exactly happened recently? Is it worth it to get back into the game?
I think I heard some Pokémon got hidden abilities recently, but since I haven't really kept track of anything I'm a bit lost.
I mean, to truly recommend Joltik, something must've happened.

Also, ♥ for the Gori reference.

tfw your in a match that's so laggy that 5 seconds of the match will pass and the song already looped 3 times.

So far from what I've seen, the three Regis all got their hidden abilities. Regirock got Sturdy, Regice got Ice Body and Registeel got Light Metal. All very situational HAs in my opinion.

The Three Birds however (Two of them) got great HAs. Articuno got Snow Cloak, Zapdos got Static and Moltres got Flame Body.

Static Zapdos is going to be huge. Snow Cloak Articuno I see being used decently, as for Flame Body Moltres... Naaaah, too situational; plus 4x Weak to Rock which while is a Physical Move, doesn't really connect.

I wouldn't recommend Joltik unless you really wanna do something crazy. I felt like using Joltik because I love it to pieces, it's so ADORABLE, and that I wanted to try something different or try and attempt to change the meta a bit. Which did fail.

Thank you very much for that Gorilla. :3

Sturdy would be great if Regirock didn't have such wonderful defensive stats. The rest are meh.

Zapdos' change is amazing, an already high-tier Pokémon done better, while Articuno (one of my favs) finally might get some usage now with (M-?)Abomasnow. Poor Moltres tho.

Chitoge gets a lot of undeserved hate for how she treats Mr. Protagonist, but she's very kind to pretty much everyone else (notably Tsugumi and Onodera), with some glaring exceptions like Tachibana (who she didn't dislike at the end).

Static Zapdos is gonna be insane, getting to PRLZ without thunder wave is awesome and opens up a move slot, if you're willing to take the risk. Snow Cloak is about as good as snow is, in otherwords garbage. Flame body moltres is actually better than that, although that physical attack better not be rock.

The Regis don't improve at all. What sad sad abilities. I would've preferred Solid Rock, Snow Warning for Regirock/ice but i dunno for Registeel.

Snow Warning for Regice sounds neat. I mean, the mono-Ice typing makes it extremely frail, but it has stats to be able to set it up a couple times.

Let me have my hopes for an usable Articuno up. :c

Articuno getting Snow Cloak is like Zelda getting a final smash buff

Sheer Force Feraligatr actually sounds pretty hype. Loved Sheer Force Nidoking on my mono Poison team back in the day...

Isn't Snow Cloak an awful ability to be only used on incredibly niche hail teams? I don't see how it is useful, really. At least Moltres can now switch in on and possibly burn bugs/fighting types. Also, most popular rock moves (i.e. Stone Edge) don't make direct contact, so they won't activate flame body anyways.

In other news, I have an assignment in my animation class to make up a product and make a website with it. I seriously regret not using Sass Tea. :/

Moltres gets shrekt by stealth rock so hard people overlook that it actually has some very good offensive/defensive mixed sets

None of the Hidden Abilities for Regi trio or legendary birds were really useful for them, though Static Zapdos is pretty much an upgrade in Doubles since it can get a lucky paralysis if it switches into a Mega Rayquaza or something. I need to play VGC more, but I've trying to relearn and get back into Pokemon in general, so I've been focusing on OU and UU.

VGC is super fun. Used to do Smogon singles but then I saw the light :D

Heliolisk's three abilities all relate to weather (Sun, Rain, Sand) <3

Fire/Flying would actually be a very good defensive type if Stealth Rock didn't maul it. Fire has the second most number of resistances in the game after Steel, believe it or not. Poison is third.

Sturdy Regirock isn't bad, and Regice actually gets some slightly better recovery in Hail with Ice Body. Zapdos's Hidden Ability in BW was Volt Absorb (!) but it never got released, just like Shadow Tag Chandelure. At least Infiltrator got buffed in XY to make it a recent choice for a powerful attacker like Chandelure.

Heliolisk is neat. It's a frilled/basilisk lizard mix with a sun motif. I want to know why, then, only its hidden ability has to do with sun. It also doesn't even get Solar Beam or Weather Ball. It honestly plays better in Rain than Sun. One of the few terrible design choices in Gen 6. I'm not complaining that it does well in Rain, but they really should have played up the "Helio" part of jfs design more.

Regirock has too much bulk for Sturdy to be useful and doesn't have any 4x weakness like Golem or Aggron for attacks to K.O. it in one hit. It's really only useful for the rare 30% accurate OHKO moves.

Sand Veil is honestly more useless than Solar Power on Heliolisk imo. With Solar Power you can at least use the Special Attack boost to sweep or wallbreak. The evasion boost you get from Sand Veil is just gimmicky and though I guess it can deal with Skarmory and bulky Waters for Excadrill on Sand teams I guess. Helio's definitely best in Rain though.

but all my save files where on that thing ;-;

:150:
I actually accidentally deleted my smash save file when trying to find space on it from when Corrin and Bayo were released because my SD card wasn't working. I still haven't unlocked the Miis... and I think I'm still missing a lot of stage songs :c

Something similar happened to me and I had to me and I had to restart my Pokémon Shuffle run.
It was 150+ hours, 350~ Pokémon, aalmost everything from events and ~12 M-Speedups.
And now I got nothing.

Heliolisk is a bad competitive Pokemon ;_;
More like a awful defensive Pokemon. I'm surprised the Zebra was worse (forgot the name lmao)

Am I the only one here who honestly don't even play competitive Pokemon? I feel the whole EV and IV thing is interesting, but it kinda ruined how Pokemon should be played IMO

Rest in peace :/ I almost went crazy when I almost deleted my Pokemon X save file. All those countless hours breeding for IVs gone, no thanks...

Gurls is D-Tilt -> LK ever a true combo? I've been landing it a few times but I don't know if it's opponent messing up or if it's true.
Depends on % , the character they're using, and rage, but yeah, they can get out of it. It's still satisfying when it does work though. Someone I played offline is confident it's true when I did it to him a few times lol. But he was Rob so there's that.

If they're hanging in the ledge (or you get the 2 frame), yes. It also works onstage vs super fast fallers like Fox. I wish they'd buff the FAF of Dtilt by 3 so we could use this more.

Well with rage, the kill %s can be anywhere between the mid 30s and 50s. Without it, it's like 60s-80s.
For Zelda, 41% doesn't sound too crazy, especially if you had rage and/or he DI'd the second hit badly.

I think there'd also a chart with KO %s in the Fairy Fountain thread if you want exact numbers.

Aren't save files stored on the SD card of the 3DS? So if it broke you could just use the card and still have your data?

Edit: Owait did you mean the Elevator or just teleporting into them?

Around 50-is I think?

Ah, what everyone else said. I kind of just go by the bounce. If it looks good it's true or true enough.

I just found a video that show down throw to neutral air to neutral air can be finished with an up air as you fall beneath them. From a jab that's like.... a lot of percent. Over 60.

It's partially stored on the system as well. So if it went to a different 3DS, it would still have the data, but the card would freak out and not let the system access the files since it isn't the original one.

For physical copies of games, most/all data is on the cartridge.

With what PK21's talking about, I don't think anything's actually saved on the system itself, but the card will make and access a different folder for saves/downloaded games or patches/etc if you try to use it on a different system, and just completely ignore the old data. I think if you try to copypaste the old saves into the new folder it'll claim the data is corrupted because the 3DS has a dumb amount of security checks on everything ("this save wasn't intended for this system" or something), but I might be wrong on that.

...I kind of hope I am wrong, because it'd mean I can restore my Gunvolt save data lol. When I upgraded to a bigger SD card and copied everything over to the new one, it made a new folder anyway like it was a new system so I lost saves on my download games.

Y'know shield breaks, people not knowing it is possible control Bowsercides, and all that other fun stuff that may or may not only work on FG. W/e Bowser's hoo hah is called is pretty fun too.

Boredom results in some crazy things.

Bonus points if anyone knows what this is intended to do.
