There are people who meltdown when learning about other characters and calling it "jank", a word that I believe should be penalized by having to write 500 sentences with the more sophisticated "ridiculous". When Roy killed people because they were right up in his face and made an unsafe option, they called his Side Smash "jank". Motherfreaker! That was his shtick in Melee and PM: strong hits on the base of his blade. It ain't "jank" when you're being an idiot who by now should know hitting a shield is not a good idea. Hey, how about actually learning the basic moves other characters have along with their basic gimmicks like how Lucario is affected by Aura or how Marth's tipper gimmick would totally be transferred to his counterpart, Roy, as the opposite.
Knowing every characters basic moves at least helps understanding what their moves can do even if you don't know the frame data, what combos they can do from them, or even the damage. Gee, I wonder if it's a good idea to challenge Little Mac's Smashes... Probably not. Even if you didn't know he could confirm a Side Smash from Dtilt, it's still a good thing to know that his Side Smash has armor.
Someone said that after that patch, Wii Fit Trainer is such a better character now... Really? Aside from the Header lag reduction, her other buffs weren't that game-changing. She's pretty much the same character, but now with better hitboxes. That's pretty much what happened to Meta Knight who instead has a better Ftilt and lower end lag on jab. They're good characters if you actually delve into them. The fact Wii Fit Trainer can control space so well and can rarely be gimped means she's going to survive and she's going to control the pace of the battle if you're not able to control space like her. Welp, whatever. Instead, let's focus on developing only like 10 characters and leave the others in the dust which hey, funny enough, characters like Greninja, Mr. Game & Watch, Wario, Marth, Lucina, and Pac-Man have been developing theirs heavily and have surprised the spotlighted 10.
There is so much information. Just look, search, and learn. It's not the freaking dark ages where if someone pulled off a wave dash, people would be confused as hell. It's all out there, so it shouldn't be surprising when Greninja smacks your face with a Shadow Sneak edgeguard.
