Isn't Charizard technically in the air when using Flare Blitz though? Disable wouldn't work in that case, though I haven't really tested it myself.

Does Confusion stop Flare Blitz by the way?

Jiggs' Sing stops Flare Blitz so I see no reason Disable wouldn't work too.

Have not tested, I'll see if I can get the CPU to cooperate.

I have to wait until I go to bed tonight in order to play with Mewtwo and the balance patch unfortunately. At least that's only 1-2 hours from now. I'm just glad that none of my mains really got nerfed. I have Sheik and Sonic as pocket characters, but I'm glad they got nerfed. I play both actively in Brawl after all. I know how it is to have limited kill options.

Does Mewtwo in Pokémon have decent HP? I know Mewtwo's powerful, but not where in terms of stats other than Special Attack. Also, I really want to see M2K at least secondary Mewtwo.

I know you got your question answered by Soul already, but I just want to say that Smash and Pokemon stats usually don't correlate well. Mewtwo's faster than even Greninja, yet he is the second slowest Pokemon in the game.

Charizard, the strongest Smash Pokemon, has the lowest Attack out of the fully evolved Pokemon and even Pikachu can outdamage the strongest physical attack from Charizard.
252 Atk Light Ball Pikachu Volt Tackle vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mew: 229-270 (67.1 - 79.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Choice Band Charizard Flare Blitz vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mew: 219-258 (64.2 - 75.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Then you have Greninja and Lucario as midweights in Smash when they are frail by Pokemon standards and are much lighter than Mewtwo according to the Pokedex.

There is the theory that Mewtwo just isn't giving it his all in Smash, but that doesn't explain why he is as light as in this game :/

Yeah. Villager has plenty of ways of dealing with Luma, (Slingshot, Axe, timber, Nair, etc) and Rosalina's light and floaty nature allows Villager to go to town on Rosalina once Luma is gone. Not to mention he has the overall better damage dealers.

At the same time, while Luma is still in play, it is very hard for Villager to get in towards Rosalina herself due to a combination of Gravitational pull and Luma taking it like a man. Nair would be the perfect solution...but lol head is invincible during her up-smash.

But like I said, Luma will be gone soon enough, and then it's Villager's chance to shine.
