This is just imho.

I personally find Dreamland really good for Sheik in pretty much every matchup except basically Puff. You can sort of pull a Fox and camp/control the middle and the general pace of the match if your DI is good. Dreamland is mostly massive and big so if you don't DI bad at important times you can squeeze a lot of extra longevity there. So can Fox, I guess, and he has laser gay, but mix of platforms and long-stock preservation make Sheik good enough there in the matchup I think. Scoring a gimp when Sheik lives to 130 or so on average is bonus points. And the platforms are nice and high for recoveries; they can't reach you with U-smash most of the time so they have do an SDIable uair or diable bair which is imho preferable to his gay-trajectory d-smash, his shine crap, and his "If you're over 100 this kills you **** near guaranteed" U-smash.

The last Foxes I played on Dreamland in tourney were Jman at TGMT and RaynEX right before Event 52 (plus some random friendly crap but that doesn't count; I only mention it because Canada's tournaments are infrequent and we mostly just do smashfests atm due to lack of funds - we're all poor). On that note, I lost to Jman (real close set). But oh well he's too good.

pokefloats is much worse than cruise i think. its just real hard to move around on those pokemon and ur getting lasered the whole time, cruise is still hard to kill them but u can stay in their face easier, and i usually ban FD or stadium also... or floats if i have a bad feeling.

drephen ***** fox on green greens... i dont, i pulled out my fox for the first time in my life last time i got taken to green greens, it didnt work out for me

its really not that bad, i shouldn't have switched, i only switched cuz i was switching all over the place that tourney cuz i felt like playing different people.

just tech chase on the islands, play cautious in the middle. I actually like that stage for needle spam on both sides of the islands.

Hey Amsah;

whenever you dash attack Fox at like 80 or whatever, why do you up tilt instead of going straight for the fair?

because if they didn't DI the initial dash attack properly the utilt is a guaranteed extra hit and then you can always fair after

you utilt rather than ftilt because ftilt is easier to DI (they can DI away and get away from the fair)

if they DI the dash attack properly (up and away) you can only fair

Proper d.i. on the dash attack is actually down/away.

down? really?

too good, i guess all da sheiks i play suck =)
That must be it. I don't remember the last time I got comboed out of a dash attack, unless it was into another dash attack. If a Sheik gets another move after a dash attack you know you d.i.ed it wrong. (with fox)

There are times where it is inescapable though. Like if you d.i. off and they run-off fair you.

i thought if sheik hit fox/falco with a dash attack at around 80 then it was a free fair?

wouldn't you have to dash and then do it? I thought there wasn't enough time. Those times where I get usmash, ftilted, faired...I either miss the d.i. or survival d.i. Whenever I do it correctly I almost never get comboed.

I should talk posting like I know Sheik inside and out, lol. I'm just speaking from personal experience.

The only thing that hits me after a dash attack, is another dash attack. Maybe its KK sandbagging or something.

No I just fail

edit: I just think "ZOMG MOAR COMBO" and then you fly off the stage from the dash attack and have DIed correctly and I can't follow from there

Bit of a late reply, but hey, better late than never right?

Good DI for a Fair = worst DI for an tilts and the other way around.
So basically, an uptilt gives them more damage, while they remain perfectly setup for a fair.

With Masashi I wasn't taking any chances, but usually I U/F/Dtilt more than once, until I think they'll try to DI for it instead of a Fair, and then I Fair turning their "good" DI into horrible DI.

Slhoka thanks for signing on the hub but i found it easier to just rip the youtube videos straight after all. MP4s are hard to work with and lag when i converted them. i ripped them as FLV's then converted to MPEG and i can now work with them.

For those who dont know, I just started on a little video project, i am making a montage of Captain Jack vs. Nihonjin using their sets from JST5 and ESA 2. which is actually alot more footage than i had thought cuz they play both times in winners +finals, they have 2 sets of finals at JST5, and they play best of 7 sets

I just finished the opening and its looking pretty epic. This will be aloooot more work than my other projects which never took more than a hour or two. so i am just going to take my time and do it right....

expect this in about a month, before scars video at least...

EDIT- i decided not to use many JST5 clips cuz the camcorder matches give me a headache

i got enough **** footage from ESA alone, so im actually close to done

That sounds really hot. The title of the video should be '**** American Smash' lol.

Is your profile picture Tyler Durden? Or just Brad Pitt? Dependant on your answer, you're a legend or you smell.

after i finished editing it wouldnt publish cuz the timeline kept going haywire every couple minutes, so i had to publish like 5 small movies to convert the clips to wmvs, then i just fused those back together and layed down a fresh audio.

bottom line its done and sexy after lots of windows bull****
