your goals in smash

for the longest time ive wanted to beat silentspectre in a tourney set.

when i went to my first tournament in early 2006, i saw silentspectre play at monterey bay thunder 7. i saw him do this weird running thing with falcon (later dubbed "moonwalk") and i was so amazed. especially when he 3 stocked myko in tournament, after i just got ***** by myko. right then i told myself that one day, ill beat silentspectre. :D

later on that year i saw ken play at NCT:2 and he was just destroying everybody he came across in tournament. it was awe inspiring how he was just manhandling the competition.
too bad he quit before i ever got to play him in tournament =[ (i got to play him at 0c3 friendlies though, needless to say i got ***** lol)

im sure everybody in the melee community has some goals they would like to accomplish.

what are your goals?

my goals are:
win some tournaments
beat some more ranked socal players
beat some notable, respected players (I haven't decided who yet lol)
beat my friend david in tournament.

edit: Laugh at me all you want, but I'm just gonna put this out there because supposedly it raises my chances of actually achieving it (although slightly more than zero is still pathetic):

what an amazing process



I want to work on my tournament mindset so I can be playing at 110% every match

and also to get really, ridiculously, m2k-proficient at the top matchups (fox dittos, marth, sheik falcon falco)

and if I stay ranked, then I want to make it count. I feel like it's mostly politics now anyways; I want to beat good people so it won't be a matter of "well he's the only other smasher that goes anywhere consistently"
