Hell, I'm one of the few people that think it should only be Marth in the next game. If nobody can agree on anything, then just don't bother with them at all.

Anywho, I got FE: Awakening today for my birthday. Pretty damn fun, for my first departure into the series. Although I need to keep reseting when a unit dies...I can't stand leaving a man behind...this is gonna be a long playthrough. xD

I would, but I'm conflicted, as I do enjoy the extra challenge, so yeah. I'm weird like that, I guess.

Kinda like how I'm still in the midst of Nuzlocking my Fire Red. I'm at the Eighth gym, but am trying to level grind some more as to not have any of my team die. Only one casualty so far...poor Sora the Pidgey. I never expected that Fury Attack to hit five times AND get a critical hit...

I say the same exact thing in Mario threads. High Bar Theory all the way.

We don't need to agree on anything to begin with, Sakurai has the final verdict anyway.

It's just fun discussing a series we're passionate about, not that I won't lie, it does get pretty dumb at times.

The thing with Fire Emblem is that it got so many characters that the fans basically divide themselves as of who they are backing. It also becomes a case of Logan's Run in which people debate that older characters should be removed for newer ones (see: Chrom vs. Ike debate). Add the fact that many of us believe that the series will only get at best 2 characters and, well, we create a civil war within ourselves.

Like I said, I hear ya. I feel the same way towards a lot of other series. Doesn't hurt to get a poke every once in a while if things get too dumb.

Yeah, it really bugged me how Grima was given practically no backstory. Medeus was supposedly the last intelligent Earth Dragon, so the only way I could see Grima showing up is him/her/it somehow being a descendant of Medeus, however, considering Medeus was pretty old in his human form, I am not sure how likely that is (and besides who would reproduce with him, considering he is by far the most infamous being on the continent of Akaneia, and the entire dragon tribe has shunned him).

I think Medeus and Grima are totally different, Naga specifically said the power of Grima are the same power of his, Grima is like the opposing power to Naga itself, while Medeus was just a powerful earth Dragon. Grima/Naga are like Ashera/Yune from my understanding, still I could be very wrong.

BTW Chrono, can you bring me the sources for Chrom being descendant of Marth and Grima being descendant of Earth Dragons....what I gathered from my playthrough that Grima is a Pseudo-god like Naga and Chrom is descendant of the first Exalt who killed Grima, but if Grima =/= Medeus than the first Exalt =/= Marth.

Look at Chrom's bio in the barracks. It specifically says, "Descendant of the Hero-King".


Also, as much as people want Roy in, I think Chrom is more likely since he's much more well known than Roy. (Plus Chrom is more of a badass anyway IMO)

LOL no. Melee sold over seven million copies. FE13 will be lucky to break a million copies sold worldwide. Guess who is in Melee, and who isn't?

As for the second comment, that is pretty much an opinion. Roy was pretty awesome in Hasha no Tsurigi (took a sword to the chest and was still able to fight through sheer will alone).

Just like Zoroark was the latest poster Pokemon, yet never really caught on. They have to have a lot more going for them than just "recentness" to warrant inclusion. If Sakurai simply does not think Chrom is interesting (or would be able to differentiate himself much from the rest of the roster), I could easily see Sakurai passing on him.

"Recentness" is not the "win all and above all" factor to inclusion that you think it is.

Narshen was an awesome villain yeah. Definitely one of my favorite Generals of the enemy army I ever fought in Fire Emblem. And damn, I wanna read that FE6 manga now. Any links to it?

Some localized names are fine, most of the changes seem unnecessary.
As Caeda/Sheeda, I suppose they are pronounced the same.

And BTW, One awesome localized name - Mars -> Marth.
We need more examples like this.

Putting words in other people's mouths I see.

Considering how even NOE localized Sheeda as Shiida (which there is nothing wrong with it), complaining about the name "Caeda" of which is such a departure from the original to the point that people would think they are two different characters if the different names were being used, is perfectly legitimate.
