You guys think Yoshi will get more nerfs because nintendo seems to listen to Japan mostly, and cause of Shi-gaming having him as third best from the stagelist and rules alone + they do wifi more than half the time where he excels that's the reasoning for some characters like Yoshi being high up or real low (Pac-man/Shulk etc.)

Nerfs to Yoshi everything?
Or Buffs to Bair and reverted nerfs for moves like dair neutral B?

Hey everyone! I'm finally back from the dead. I had to travel for work mid February and just got back a couple days ago

Also, I finally got a Wii U, so add me if you want to play or anything. :]

Maybe there are a lot of mediocre Yoshi players on FG that we don't know about making him look bad. (one can hope :()
Well that's the thing with Japan too.
For every 50 diddy players, there's 500 Yoshi players behind them apparently.

Yoshi is like Western's Little Mac at the early 3DS days.

Even though I don't like saying it; Yoshi nerfs could be a thing and would be ok.
But if they nerf him as hard as the japanese make him look so strong, it's probably too much...

Japan rates him as being really good but tournament results don't seem to reflect that, we can only hope Nintendo really looks into the competitive community and assesses the situation properly.
Rather than nerfing characters it'd be way better to just make everyone good, buffs all around except to those who obviously don't need them. :D (except nerf Diddys Uairs range plz)

I think Yoshi is in a good position balance-wise, actually, he just gets bopped hard by a couple of the top-tier characters. If Sheik, Diddy & Sonic get toned down slightly and Yoshi stays the same, I think he'll be a really good character.

I hope that Yoshi doesn't get nerfed as well. I wish his egg roll had its brawl priority back though. It could clank with a falcon punch! Now it breaks to a single mega buster. XD maybe give his n-air more killpower too.(btw. Are the Yoshi boards always this.......barren?)

That's never gonna happen, haha. Also RIP in pizza grab armor. Nothing makes me saltier than going for an egglay and losing to every move ever.

They don't need to touch Yoshi, he's an A tier. They need to touch character's like Diddy or Charizard who are unfairly overpowered or just flat out not viable at all.

I would not mind if Yoshi didn't get any buffs, just nerfs to the characters that smack him senseless (diddy, sheik, sonic lol). If any buffs were to happen it'd be nice if
  • Pivot grab's ending lag reduced
  • Fsmash point blank range miss fix
  • A kill throw (?!) because dthrow -> uair isn't particularly reliable
  • Side B buffed to actually be usable
We need better ways of killing because getting the opponent to high % and having no setups to kill sucks.

The year is 2020. The major coastal cities have been washed into the sea and clean fresh water is a priceless commodity. Ted Cruz is president, the United States is at war with nineteen countries, and egg roll is a good move.

Everyone plays Yoshi. The metagame consists of egg rolling until you land a hit and--like sonic--jumping out and following with an upair kill. The hype is over who times the egg roll tot he start of the game to beat out the opponent egg roll and it is GLORIOUS!

Any tricks for getting back to neutral during a tournament match where you're starting to get stressed or flustered? Loosing my train of thought, it becomes too easy to get too aggressive and start taking a pummeling.

I try to calm down and take things a bit more....gracefully. xD try to mix up your attacks. Empty jump to scare the opponent and then egg lay then if they decide to shield while you are in mid-hop

Try forcing yourself to the ledge. Grab it and hang there for a bit, to try and break the flow of the match. I also tend to literally just have my character walk/dash away from the other character. Even though it'll put me in bad stage position, the benefit to my frame of mind is worth it.

Try to slow down the pace of the game by playing more defensively. It really easy to get carried away and go aggro, but Yoshi doesn't have the proper tools to do so like other characters can. If you've lost a stock or take off your opponent's, take a deep breath and refocus your mind.

Totally! My wifi isn't amazing or anything. I'm not sure if I'll be on tonight or not, but just keep an eye out in case.
ok. Might not be on tonight though as my Wi-Fi has been acting very wonky as of yesterday. :/ (I don't know what happened, it just switched off immediately as soon as I got home. Weird.)

Would anyone like play Smash 3ds with me?
FC-3523-2929-6445
I'm like, a 3ds specialist, just let me know when you're open. My FC should be in the Yoshi Ditto page somewhere (probably pretty early). I'm going to add my FC and NNID to my profile at some point when I have my stuff on me.

This week is kinda bad for me, but I should be open at some point. I usually play about 6:00 or 7:00 Eastern US time.

Ohhh right. Apologies for my inactivity there, will try to be more active.

I thought I was going to be busy with Nakats Zero to Hero program this week but it's been post-poned due to him going to Canada for two weeks. I do have a tourney coming up this Friday however which will define our states PR finally.

I'm bad and have been busy with the start of a new quarter. I'll treat my write up as one of my applications that I've got a deadline for coming up so I seriously make time for it. Sorry Slush.
