No, it requires a special camera that shoots in 3D OR post conversion. In the case of Star Wars, they're converting it in post.

Two cameras probably gives you the more realistic 3D if you have appropriate lighting. There are a lot of "3d in post" movies that don't look 3d at all.

A 3D camera kinda works like that. 3D just displays 2 different images, and the glasses force our eyes to combine them into 3D.

In the past, post conversion has been GARBAGE, but The Lion King 3D actually took much more time to convert, so the 3D was actually really good. Titanic's post conversion has taken a while and is said to be really good, as has Star Wars'.

The 3DS has 2 external cameras and one internal. So yes, 2 cams = 3D.

The reason the 3DS's 2 cameras make a 3D image is because the two cameras record slightly different images. It's not "true" 3D, but it comes close enough that our eyes are still fooled.
