Well, it's taken halfway into the week, but I finally got this thread set up.

So, what are we going to do about sonic not being in trouneys then? I say everyone from the smash boards or sonic section at least should go to trouney, and prove them wrong about sonic. We can go on and on about how much he sucks, but let's try to do something about it. Let's not cry, but pick sonic up and go on an Owning Steak with him.

I'm tempted to Photoshop a picture of Sonic standing on a steak.

I'm tempted to beg you until you do.

The steak needs a first place ribbon too. How else would we know it's a Winning Steak?

What is a "Winning Steak?"

Winning Steak: The accomplishment of pulling off something incredibly epic, with the character Sonic the Hedgehog in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. This could be in the form of mindgaming your opponent for the win, or simply two Sonic's repeatedly homing attacking until they both Star KO themselves. It is so immensely eyecatching or epic, that it exerts powerful emotion from both the players and the spectators, the magnitude of which is usually depending on exactly what the outcome of the actions are. The opponent's failure to stop the development of said outcome from taking place only emphasizes how Winning the Steak is.

The verb and noun form of the term are very similar.

The ONLY exception ever made to compromise the definition of "Winning Steak" is "Steak of the North Star".

Owning Steak: The original winning steak. It is delicous. However, no man/woman/hedgehog alive can ever attain it.
It's what all true warriors Sonic mains strive for...

Fake Steak: The exact inverse of Winning Steak. A vile substance. An example of such would be consecutively SDRing into an Olimar.

I can't tell you how much I appreciate the nomination for "Cirque du Sonique." While it is short, I see that somewhat as a circumstance of the current, well-progressed Sonic metagame of 2009. I didn't want to fill the video with a bunch of things everyone's seen before; we've all watched so many throw-to-Uair Star KOs, F/Bair stage spikes, chain throws, and Dair/spring gimps in all of the great combo videos over the past year that any more at this point seemed redundant. I suppose my little 1:30 video was an attempt to add even the slightest bit to an amazingly developed metagame. It's no coincidence that many SWFers recognize Sonic as having one of the most advanced metagames and his players as traditionally having some of the best mindgames.
