Slim chance its already banned in some places around the world.
Seeing not only the fact that they can appeal the ban, but they can reduce the content to where it gets a lower rating which can also get it unbanned so I have no clue what your talking about. :psycho:

Jeah, it truly is a good game...

And Manhunt 2 will definitely be toned down and released. I won't buy it, but I'd be pissed if they had to tone it down too much.

yeah, you only need like 100 to get to bribe the guy to go to the super rubee rooma nd then 10000 (which is easy there) to get to the 1 million rubee room.

i think. w/e.

I ran on that mil for like 40 minutes, and got like 180,000 rubees. :chuckle: Then I realized how you are suppose to do it, lol! There's Nintendo for you, being silly again while tricking us! :psycho: They had me confused for a hour or so on just one level! :psycho:

Anyways, Manhunt 2 will be toned down to M. Imagine if it got toned down to M on every system but the Wii, lol! :chuckle: That would mean a AO on the Wii=the only AO game this gen (or at least that I know of). That would shut the "zomg Nintendo is fro baibes adn litle childern only" n00bs forever! Or it would make them cry=YAE! (I know, random) :chuckle:

Random comment aside, considering how psychopathetically awsome (whao big word) Manhunt 2 looks, if the company who's making it wants it to sell, they tone it down to M, for sure. Otherwise many gaming stores won't sell the game at all=evil Jack. :p

This is somewhat off topic, but I have a joke to share!

What's the difference between Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft?
Sony makes games for their consoles. Nintendo makes consoles for their games. Microsoft doesn't see the connection.

I don't get the MS part, maybe I'm losing my quick-wit[tedness] the rest is good though.

On topic: I think the notion of banning AO and removing AO games from systems is [it's 3am, forgive me for being so pre-school with my vocabulary] stupid. Seriously, so adults can't have their fun just because a game is a little graphic? What happened to serving every type of customer? I guess I must've fallen asleep when gaming became for everyone -18 years old.

You know, major shopping centers and so on don't carry porno's either. And if Sony or Nintendo don't want AO games on their consoles, that's fair enough. I mean, the game has you electricuting testicles. I wouldn't want that on my console either.

NOt saying i want the game, but that's a bad analogy. With porno, it's kept out of malls but you can still get it elsewhere if you so desire. Manhunt 2 is kept complete off of an individual's console with no way to attain it. So it's not a question of keeping it from public eyes. That would be an analogy if, for instance, you could only get Manhunt 2 through an online order.

Saturday June 30th the Wii Internet Channel will no longer be free.

That's right, Nintendo will be adding a price to the downloading ability of it's Wi-Fi connection.. So if you've yet to download the Wii Internet Channel, then you should hurry up and do so now.. because, come Saturday June 30th, you're screwed! Or you have to pay to get it at least :/

... You guys don't have porn in your malls? I can think of two DVD shops in our mall that sell porn. Suncoast and FYE both sell porn.

And greenblob, Microsoft has quite a few in-company development teams.

Good news. Kinda.

WiiWare, meaning original downloadable content for the Wii, will be announced in a few hours (or at least today). You can read all about it, pre-Nintendo-release, here:

http://blog.newsweek.com/blogs/leve...6/level-up-exclusive-on-nintendo-wiiware.aspx

What's more interesting is that Nintendo isn't only seeking WiiWare from established publishers and developers like Ubisoft and Sega. At a Nintendo developer's conference earlier this week, the company informed attendees that it was seeking from indie developers as well. Shorter, original, more creative games from small teams with big ideas; these are the buzzwords that you'll be hearing from Nintendo when its Wednesday announcement goes wide. Fils-Aime told us that while Nintendo, as the retailer, would itself determine the appropriate pricing for each game on a per-title bases, the games themselves would not be vetted by Nintendo. Instead, Nintendo would only check the games for bugs and compatibility, with developers and publishers responsible for securing an E for Everyone, E10+ for Everyone 10 or older, T for Teen or M for Mature rating from the Entertainment Software Rating Board--Adults Only titles like Manhunt 2 aren't welcome. Look for the first WiiWare titles from Nintendo and third-parties to become available next year. And check back shortly with Level Up for more details on our conversation with Fils-Aime.
Bad news, as you might've already read, is that it won't be coming until next year. Boo.

^^^ Yeah, I need one of those, and I'm willing to pay upwards of 150 dollars for a good one.

And nice find, Sensai.

Awesome! It's about time, Nintendo. The online is becoming more robust as we speak!

Crap.

Expect some Geometry Wars news soon. On the IGN Wii page, there's a link to the developer blog, but the post it links to has been deleted by the developer.

EDIT: The news is up. I'm so pumped for that game!

DAMMIT. I should've read it, then. I just passed it up thinking 'how can they possibly sell Geometry Wars as a retail game' and didn't read it. Crud.

And I'm pretty sure that this is, at least, a subtle tilt of the hat to some type of storage device incoming. Even if it's just the ability to use SD cards in a non-****ty manner.

Wow, ****. Before I even posted this comment, look what I found:

Oh, and here's something else. This one's actually good, albeit weird, news:

here's the first press release
The search for the next ingeniously ground-breaking video game has begun. At a private developers conference this week, Nintendo announced the introduction of WiiWare™, a game-creation service that will allow developers large and small to create new downloadable video game content for sale by Nintendo through the Wii Shop Channel of the hot Wii™ home video game system. WiiWare paves the way for smaller, more creative games to make their way to the public at lower prices, without any inventory risk to developers. The first WiiWare content will launch in early 2008.

"Independent developers armed with small budgets and big ideas will be able to get their original games into the marketplace to see if we can find the next smash hit," says Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime. "WiiWare brings new levels of creativity and value to the ever-growing population of Wii owners."

The possibilities for WiiWare are limited only by the imaginations of developers. WiiWare provides game creators a simple method by which they can get their games to the public. This approach, combined with the remarkable motion controls of the Wii Remote™ and Nunchuk™, will give birth to fresh takes on established genres, as well as original ideas that currently exist only in developers' minds. The reduced barriers to development provide developers the freedom to create and an inexpensive, clearly defined path to reach consumers who will ultimately determine which game will become the Next Big Thing.

WiiWare will be posted on the Wii Shop Channel. As with current Wii Shop Channel offerings, users will redeem Wii Points™ to download content. It will support a variety of pricing options. Details about that and upcoming projects will be announced at a later date.

It'd be cool if they got Pixel working on some indie WiiWare...I'd buy those games in a heartbeat. :/ Also, they should look into releasing localising Mother 3 and releasing it as a WiiWare in the US and Europe. And Sin & Punishment...and a couple other games we missed out on. :(

Sucks about the harddrive, though; guess we won't see Saturn games on the VC for awhile. :/ :\

I wonder how indie they would allow their developers to be.

I mean, if I ran some code and made a game that was near SNES level...would that do? Or do I still have to have a Wii development kit, etc?

I think I read in Mark Bozon's blog that dev kits are upwards of 1,500. Lol.

Soo... I hope they don't make people have a dev kit, 'cause if they do then it's not gonna be very indie.

Would you consider XBLA to be indie? If so, $1500 is nothing for a kit. To qoute this article:
that article said:
"Creating an Xbox Live Arcade game is taking most studios 6-12 months. Costs are currently ranging from USD $100,000 to USD $300,000," revealed Tunnell.

"Right now, I wouldn't consider attempting to make an XBLA game with a USD $100,000 budget. Development kits and Certification would eat up half of that, not leaving much for the actual game development," he said.
That means that, assuming Certification and Dev kits cost the same, a dev kit costs $25,000 for an XBLA game. From a development standpoint, the Wii is dirt-cheap to develop for.

I just got my Nintendo Power, and they did a little thing on Geometry Wars. There were a few things that excited me:
Nintendo Power said:
Geometry Wars: Galaxies offers the basic Retro Evolved game - albeit with configurable, motion-sensitive controls that dramatically alter the experience...
I hope this means that we can use the classic controller or the Wiimote.

Nintendo Power said:
If you own the Wii version of Galaxies, you'll be able to download Retro Evolved to your DS any time you like...
HAWTNESS!!!
Nintendo Power said:
...but if you own the game for both systems,...you can jump back and forth between the Wii and DS while maintaining the continuity of a single game.
Sounds cool.

Nintendo Power said:
...using the stylus to fire on the touch screen more or less approximates the default control scheme - aiming a reticle with the remote - on the Wii.
Finally, something specific about the control scheme. That Wii control scheme could work, but I hope you can use the classic controller.

I'm actually a little dissapointed at that boxart. I've seen some fan made photoshopped ones that look cooler than that.

I saw it earlier, saw it later, then saw it again just now.

I wouldn't say it's bad, but I would definitely have one question to ask them if I got the chance: why THREE Samuses (Samuses? Samusi?)?

I mean, I get it. It's Metroid Prime 3. But...my God. It's just overkill. I don't mind the back-to-back good-vs-evil type thing. That can stay. Even the planet can stay although I don't like it (it just seems Nintendo wants to make us REALLY sure it's a space game)...but three Samuses (**** that word)? The third, face only one makes it just....overkill.

Alright guys, I'm heading out for about a week. I'll see you cats when I get back. Take care everyone.

Maybe it's not so much three Sami as it is symbolism for Samus' dual personality-esque issues. Ya know, the whole corruption thing. Fighting inner demons etc. etc. Some cool insanity effects due to coasting to much on the corruption would be rather trippy...

IGN had some Geometry Wars hands-on. http://wii.ign.com/articles/800/800250p2.html

The impression was good, overall. They said the Wii took some getting used to, but the DS was easy to pick up and play. They didn't mention using the Classic Controller, but it was hands-on; why would the developer want to show off something that we know works?

The additions make it seem like it'll be deep, but still ridiculously fun.

Oh, and it's going to have online leaderboards.

Sensai, im guessing the samus behind uhh samus is the one being corrupted, while the one on the above corner is Dark samus, check the official art, samus is starting to look more like the suit he absorbed, and it was confirmed when they show the art that that is indeed dark samus...

Huzzah! According to Game Informer, Geometry Wars: Galaxies supports the Classic Controller. They also revealed the price point: $39.99. I like it.

Suprisingly, Game Informer (notorious Nintendo haters at times) said that the game looked gorgeous. They said that "Geometry Wars Galaxies looks like it’s going to serve as ammo for people who are skeptical of the Wii’s graphic capabilities."

Get buzzed about this game. It'll be a perfect addition to your Wii library.
