I want this game so much... But I think I'll hafta wait until the weekend to get it. :ohwell:

I'm just waiting for people to make rercreations of old video game or even real songs and upload them onto YouTube. Like the MarioPaint remixes, but higher quality. What if someone made a heavy metal or like a jazz version of the Brawl theme? Awesome.

If they have any Kirby game songs or any Panel De Pon songs then I'm getting that game ASAP.

I'll give it a rental before I pass judgement. I think some of the review sites gave it a fairer shake than others, and as long as it makes for a fun time I'll probably actually buy it eventually.

Well it is a very good game you can play it for a long time, there is over 60 instruments, and online play, also many other great things.
"Also many other great things?"

If that's the case, why didn't you list them? I'll admit I'm biased (I think the game looks like garbage), but it sounds to me like you couldn't think of any other good things to say.

This game does look interesting. I wonder if it would be possible to inhibit a double-bass pedal function for the drums. Though, that would probably take two Wii Boards to be able to accompany both the pedals and the hi-hat control. Either way, the possibilties seem very interesting, i'll have to try it out for myself.

Well it has unlockable songs such as:
Super Mario Bros.
Hyrule theme.
and many other song, the most simple is Twinkle twinkle little star.

Then there are games including:
Perfect pitch which I have not tried yet.
And Wii Orchestra where you compose a Orchestra of the song list selection.

There is Online, I have yet to try.

Also there are Jam sessions that you can have up to four people playing in a band.
For rock band here:
1: plays the Rock, JAzz, Basic, Or galactic drums
2:plays electric guitar, or Acoustic guitar
3:And Electric Bass, or Upright Bass
4:plays tambourine, or rhythm Guitar.

It over all is a great game, any other questions?

Yeah, that's what we need, the Mario Bros. theme with 32nd notes on the bass drum.

Wii music looks and sounds like garbage. I'll admit that I'm biased against all games like this because I'm such an elitist when it comes to playing music, but I would sooner play Rock Band than Wii Music because at least Rock Band has a somewhat decent tracklist.

Hmm i gotta try it. If you get it at the right beat it doesn't sound horrible. It seems this one is about getting the right tempo or else you get some thing that sounds awful. But it seems that the mode i am most interested in is Conductor.
It also seems there is a scoring system as well.

I have one question. Can you play all the seperate instruments individually then put them together? For example. I play the drums for Zelda. Then I play the shamysen for Zelda, then I play the banjo for Zelda etc. Then Can I put those parts together to make one song? If so I'll buy this right away!

An interesting thing about this game is that it is the only Nintendo Wii game rated lower on IGN than it is on Gamespot. lol.

Oh no this thread diiiiied.

I unlocked everything, and I gotta say... this game is too good... The only thing I don't like is that you can't make your own songs. I thought you could. :ohwell: We need a Wii Music Store like the one for Rock Band to download more songs...

Oh well. Complaining aside, this game is good. Where else can you play Minuet in G Minor with an electric guitar solo?

Upside down? I'd say close to apocalypse...

Exactly. Wii Music is not a game, it's a toy. Miyamoto said that himself.
Theoretically, you could argue that he lied, since he also said that it's infinitely more interesting than a normal game. But I think he was telling the truth...unfortunately.

Wii music looks and sounds like garbage. I'll admit that I'm biased against all games like this because I'm such an elitist when it comes to playing music, but I would sooner play Rock Band than Wii Music because at least Rock Band has a somewhat decent tracklist.
I agree. I hate music games, but hearing of Wii Music made me want to vomit, stupidity and pointlessness of music games aside. At least Rock Band/Guitar Hero try to kind of simulate the instruments (funny that's coming from me, since I'm always talking about how playing those games is nothing like playing a real instrument). Wii Music...what was it, two buttons to play the Saxophone?

Oh well. Complaining aside, this game is good. Where else can you play Minuet in G Minor with an electric guitar solo?
A real guitar.
THANK YOU SKYLER, YOU WIN.

Seriously, Neon Ness. Whether or not you agree with the concept of music games, there is nothing stopping you from playing songs from said games on a real instrument. Wii Music is not exclusively offering that.

Seriously, this game looks like a piece of crap and I won't buy it for two reasons.

A) I don't buy music games as a rule. They're stupid, pointless, and a waste of money (at least from my perspective, don't flame me if you don't think so).
B) It sounds rather pointless. You play all of these different songs, unlock more songs, and then...what...? You get to play minigames? Uh-uh. If the game felt half worth it and came with something like Wii Play, then it might be worth the buy. Otherwise, no.

Having ANY proficiency with a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) completely nullifies the whole "play a bunch of different instruments" thing. Plus you can write whatever you want.

Wii Music is like Guitar Hero, without the skill element and any semblance of trying to emulate an actual instrument.

<shameless FruityLoops plug>The demo is at flstudio.com or thereabouts, it's fully functional with export capabilities, you just can't save your project files, it's free, and there's no time limit. Go get it and learn how to really make your own music.</shameless FruityLoops plug>

Yeah, precisely. People act like Wii Music is revolutionary, yet it's not...at all. It brings NOTHING new to the table.

Your second part defines Wii Music precisely. As someone who played the Saxophone, I can say confidently without ever playing the game that the simulation of it sucks if it's pressing two buttons. There's no way around it.

I suppose if we're listing the reasons why we won't be purchasing Wii Music, I'll list a few of my own...

1. Fallout 3
2. Dead Space
3. Resistance 2
4. Eternal Sonata
5. Tales of Symphonia: DotNW
6. de Blob
7. Wario Land: Shake It!
8. Gears of War 2
9. Chrono Trigger
10. Rock Band 2/ Guitar Hero World Tour

...In short, there is just so much more software out there that I need to buy before I would even think about plopping $50 down for Wii Music. Maybe if it were $30 instead, or like Firus said, if it came with something to sweeten the deal. But as it stands, I can turn around and use that $50 so much better than this game, and there's ten reasons right there for clues as to how.

Oh, and 11. I'm getting married November 8th. That's a money-suck right there.

Yeah, that's another thing. I need to get some more stuff for my 360, as well as some great classic games (mainly Super Mario RPG), not to mention other little things. Oh, and I also want to purchase a Dreamcast, a Saturn, and an NES (not to mention other things like the Nomad, but those three I listed are actually in grasp). So yeah, the last thing I really need to spend my music on is Wii Music, and that's if I really thought it was worth it.

And congrats, man.

I can't say with any certainty how large the game is, but if it had come out as a WiiWare title I think the industry as a whole would've been alot kinder. Then it would've been just a $15 diversion, a neat noisemaker that would've fit well with the quirky WiiWare content we've been seeing lately.

I'm still trying to troll a guy I know until buying WiiMusic, I doubt it'll work but if it does it'll be hilarious.

I have no intention of buying it, I think it's a joke.

Yeah, that's great. You're a lucky man.

I agree; WiiWare was a good idea. Instead of trying to actually sell titles lacking in length and content, they can sell them for a more reasonable price. But they really need to use it more, because they're still releasing too many games that aren't worth $50 regularly. In all honesty, I think every "Wii" game belongs on WiiWare (alone, anyways). Wii Sports was fine because it came with the Wii. Wii Play was worth it because it was basically $10. Wii Fit was semi-worth it because it's the only way to get the Balance Board (I believe, correct me if I'm wrong), and if/when you can buy it separately it'll probably be a Wii Play in which you end up actually spending little money on the game. But Wii Music...it doesn't come with anything, so you spend the full $50 on a game that's really not worth that much.

Ok, then why did you even come into this thread? Just to bash Wii Music? Oh, that's real nice. A bunch of people trying to discuss their experiences with the game and you just come out of nowhere to tell us how unremarkable it is.
Please, just save it. We know it's a toy, does that make it any less fun and interesting? You must not be a musical person.
If you don't say anything that contribute to the thread, please take it elsewhere.

That's kinda funny, because he said several times that he is a musical person and thats the reason that he hates the game.

And you're on the internet. You can't really expect a discussion about WiiMusic to go without WM haters, can you?

I really hate it when people post just to talk about what they hate.

That's like walking into a candy store and complaining that you don't like candy and you can't find anything else.
You are IN the candy store (this thread), which implies that you had some sort of hope for this game. Why do you walk into a situation where all you want to do is complain.

No, that's not much of a comparison. A better comparison would be walking into a round-table discussion about candy, and complaining that you don't like candy. At which point everyone could continue discussing candy. These are discussion threads, for better or for worse.

I'm sure there's a place online for only pro-Wii Music discussion, and I'm sure that's a great place to avoid any negative commentary. But the fact of the matter is that these threads on this forum continue to foster discussion, not just blind fanboyism--for the most part, that is.

Rather than complain that we don't like it, why not tell us why we should? Discuss with us, not against us. It's all in good fun, really. ;)

Argh, beaten by logic and politeness. Dark you derek.haines! I don't like reality.
Anyways, I will hopefully be picking this up tomorrow/in the coming weeks. I can't wait to make my bands!
