Probably because the title "Wii Music" implies that there is some sort of intrinsic musical value to the game, which obviously is not the case.
Doesn't the fact that it's a "Wii ______" title, however, mean that one can safely assume that it'll be the ******* child of its genre? I mean, I'm sure it's good fun if you let it be--as are Wii Sports and Wii Play--but it'll never come anywhere close to a legitimate music game...or a real musical instrument for that matter. I just can't believe the price, really. Wii Play and Wii Sports were good fun in large part because they were pack-ins, and you didn't have to feel bad if they were shallow and short.

You must not be a musical person.
Clearly you don't know me...I have 1773 songs on my iPod, and I'm almost always listening to music in some way, shape, or form. I love music. It's half of my life (the other half is video games).

No, that's not much of a comparison. A better comparison would be walking into a round-table discussion about candy, and complaining that you don't like candy. At which point everyone could continue discussing candy. These are discussion threads, for better or for worse.

I'm sure there's a place online for only pro-Wii Music discussion, and I'm sure that's a great place to avoid any negative commentary. But the fact of the matter is that these threads on this forum continue to foster discussion, not just blind fanboyism--for the most part, that is.

Rather than complain that we don't like it, why not tell us why we should? Discuss with us, not against us. It's all in good fun, really. ;)
But yeah, this says what I would've said more politely and more eloquently than I would've said it. I'm not flaming it, I'm offering my opinions against the game. I can see where you're coming from, but I'm just discussing the game.
In any case, the argument already ended before I came so I don't want to ignite the flame again, I just wanted to say that.

I've personally always liked the air hockey game from Wii Play. It can be a bit fussy at times, but for the most part it's a good game to play with people who aren't huge gamers.

And the Pose Me game...Lordy, a friend of mine spent most of a single summer so bored she had that game 100% figured out. Watching her do the really high levels while looking completely nonchalant was a thing to behold.

Bowling has been a big hit in my family for quite a while. It really is a fairly good analogue for actual bowling, and it beats spending a ridiculous amount of money to actually go to do the real thing.

Hmm. Well, I can't say I didn't expect most people to flame Wii Music. I guess I'm a minority here. But I guess it's because I have zero musical talent. I've always thought that the piano was the greatest instrument but never got around to learning how to play it, so it's fun to go nuts on those ivory keys in Wii Music. Granted it could be argued that I should just get off my butt and learn how to play in real life, but Wii Music is still good stuff...

But I understand Firus. For someone who actually knows music, Wii Music must feel like a mockery... But still, I like it's simplicity...
