I dunno, I've heard that Rock Band drums isn't too far removed from regular drums.

If metroid prime taught me anything it's how to read a map.

Very simple drums, yes. When it comes to a full set of drums it's MUCH different. There's a lot more than just...what, four pads?

Drums at their simplest form are basically just a pad. Rock Band has a few pads. Thus it is a very simple type of drumming. Considering that drums are rhythm, it's not surprising that it's the most similar to its counterpart. That doesn't mean you're going to learn anything from playing Rock Band. At BEST you'll learn basics. But all Rock Band and Guitar Hero are is hitting buttons in a set pattern, and that's not going to teach you anything.

I still think the skills you learn from completing Rock Band on expert playing drums are directly applicable to a real drum kit with four drums and a bass drum. You won't just stand up as the credits roll, walk over to a drum kit and thrash out a solo or anything, but you're learning useful drumming skills none the less, stuff concerning coordination, rhythm and timing.
