Who should I pick up instead of Olimar?

Personal reasons.
I love him, but for this reason I think I may drop him.

I am thinking of doing Samus at the moment and work to become a close up fighter using only weak missiles.

I have loads of fun with kirby. Seriously, playing kirby has helped me with spacing so much. And it's nice having a million jumps. I kinda dig DK too because he lives forever, although I suck with him.

If you just want to improve off of Olimar, play Jigglypuff or Kirby for awhile. They take perfect spacing to do well with. Don't give up Olimar though. You're living proof that Olimar is better than middle tier. Don't drop Olimar completely. :X

lol, this is reminding me of when you said if you drop olimar, its because of me, but seriously kirby or samus cause they are fun, annoying as **** to other opponents and i second and third main them so biasasm also

I've been working on ROB. It's nice to use a character who is nearly impossible to gimp when I'm so used to Olimar!

Olimar is such a beast on stage, I still don't know why he isn't just on the bottom of high tier. If you compare Olimar to the other Middle Tier characters, he doesn't look like he fits.

Hmmm. I find ness, peach, mario, and fox to all be very fun characters, if you want to give them a shot. I pretty much constantly switch between them (and a lot of other characters too, now that I think about it) although oli will always be my favorite char.

Yaknow, when I think about it, as frustrating as oli's recovery can be sometimes, I actually kind of enjoy the challenge of getting back (unless against mk maybe...it's just hopeless then sometimes haha). It's almost in a melee kind of way, his recovery. This isn't related haha, but I was just thinking.

just use sumone with an awesome recovery for a change so you dont have to be thinkin will i recover everytime u get knocked off. I enjoy playin a (non spammy) pit once in a while, also pikachu is good fun but hard to use well. I guess samus if u want but i cant use her nymore after seconding her on melee. way too different

Tamoo, the issue with recovery doesn't bother me.
It's personal reasons, not game related.
I am now trying to make myself have fun while playing Samus as so far she is boring, but if I get good with her and enjoy it, then my point will be proven and I'll make it back to Olimar sometime.

The major downside means less money and I'll be like.. Rhyme.

I main Olimar, but I've been working on a Zamus a lot recently. She's hella fun and is technically "samus" like you wanted. :S

Plus, throwing her suit around at the beginning makes you beam with the light of an olimar player.
