Well, I'm thinking of using Toon Link. He seems like a pretty good character. (even though he's like Link in a lot of ways) Though he is faster, and I use Young Link all the time in Melee. The similarities will probably make him easier to start with.

The reason i might pick Toon Link is because he might be faster and more light then actual link.

Ike, and marth hmm well they are pretty cool. ya know ima try them but noone can every touch me with link in melee so yeah.

In melee I mained as Doctor Mario, but just recently I picked up Mario and I'm doing pretty well with him. So in Brawl, I don't know who I'll main as. I have to try them all out. But from what I have seen, I will probably decide out of Triple D (King Dedede), R.O.B., or Toon Link. I'm still going to also use my main and alt {Mario(now) and Yoshi}
