I have indeed beaten OoT and MM 100% (I actually went through a run of every game in the Zelda series last year and beat them all 100%.)

MM is one of the hardest in the series to gain 100% because of how steeply challenging some of the Heart Pieces are. But yeah, I got everything.

Between the two games, I think the only thing I've never accomplished is catching the Hylian Loach in OoT. Just...yeah.
Pretty sure you gotta use the sinking lure to catch the Hylian Loach :p. It may be possible to catch it by simply using the regular, floating lure, but I haven't heard of anyone accomplishing that.

I remember my most hated heart container to get, is the one at the end of that mini game in the Market. The one where you have to choose between two chests, one containing a key and the other containing a rupee. I wouldn't mind it too much except for the fact it goes on for like 6 rooms. Took me quite a while to guess all the correct chests :urg:

Is the Hylian Loach really that difficult to catch, i mean a lot of people seems to have difficulties with it.

I reckon that i already managed to catch it previously. Gotta try again and see if i can manage to catch it once more.

I've decided to take on the challenge again. Its been a while since I've actually tried to 100% it by myself without my friend competing against me lol

Catching it took me about an hour.

@Gatling For that heart container at the market, Length of truth IIRC.

Yeah, the one series of times I was genuinely trying to catch it, I was using the sinking lure. The thing just refused ever to bite.

And 3man is correct. The Lens of Truth will show you the correct chest to open. (In fact, I swear in later versions of OoT, the game will automatically give you the Rupee instead of the Key if you try to open without the Lens, every single time.)

Lol! Oh man am I stupid then :p
I think I tried it like the first time I was ever in the market at night anyways, I'll definitely remember that for next time.

I spent at least 30 minutes getting that, hah.

I'm assuming PoH (piece of heart?) is referring to the mini game, I honestly don't remember the name of it. Yeah it is true though, seeing as that is how I did it :p

Oh really? Wow than you got lucky. 1/16 or 1/32 chance of doing it without. I forget if there is four or 5 rooms and I just did it today too. jeez lol

Haha for sure. Can't believe I didn't even know the Lens would work for it, thinking about it now it is so obvious.

Oh well, better feeling of accomplishment!

I've spent my last two summer holidays in getting a 100% in both games.
Mission accomplished.

I just want to point out that since I just played OOT and MQ back to back, OOT is definitely the harder game of the two

Yes, OOT is much harder than MQ. MQ may have some tricks up its sleeve but its really a one trick pony in that regard. MQ is more puzzle based which is why they removed so many enemies. OOT is the full package though. Equally challenging puzzles plus a **** ton of enemies and equally combat based. It makes OOT much harder.

I just did and its really not going to be much of a problem really. I only had trouble in a few spots because we decided to do minimum upgrades as well. The 3 heart challenge is true to its name on OOT

I can see that actually. I'm going to play MM soon and try to complete it 100% next even though I'm currently stopped at the shadow temple. I just need a short break from OOT because these skulltulahs are annoying me

What I mean is:
If you already know how to go through the two games, OoT is easier than MM, but if you're playing em for the first time, OoT is definitely harder than MM. imo.

Tbh I feel that Majora's Mask is an extension of Ocarina. Don't misinterpret this. I actually feel that Majora is a more complete game by itself than Ocarina. I just mean it in a "you can't play one without playing the other" sort of way.

It basically is a sequel to Ocarina of Time. The beginning of the game begins in Lost Woods, after defeating Ganon. When Link enters the twisted corridor, we are immediately being presented to Termina. So, it's two different worlds, but both games shares some of the same characteristics.

Congrats, but... try to avoid double post at all, if not... for the next time, try to be sure that what you are going to say is something important/relevant at least.

And please, don't take this the wrong way.

this "!" is part of my nick (Chile)
about emulators, i want share something with all here.

it seems than, in OoT are an extra pice of heart, to get it, go to Gerudo fortress as a child
With the emulator just turn on the cheat "press L to levitate", go to gerudo valley and then go to gerudo fortress.

the pice of heart is in the uper part of the prision (the place where you are throw inside, when you are capture by the guards). i cant find a "oficial" way to get it, but isnt nesesary for get the 20 heart

:awesome:

I never found out where to get those damn fire and ice arrows. Also I never got the horse. But I got to the last castle so if I did that statue thing I could of beat the game. :troll:

What, you cant talk about emulators? Thats ridiculous, there's a whole section on texture hacking and brawl minus etc.

Well, I mean, you can talk about them but the way that guy phrased them made it explicity clear that he was just pirating. He even said he didn't own the games. Or maybe not. I dunno. Just be careful about it.

What do you all think is the hardest part about completing either game 100%?

For OoT, it was fishing for the Golden Scale, by far. My hands literally hurt after reeling in the necessary fish for that on my most recent run.

For MM, it's a toss-up between winning the Heart Piece at the Swamp Shooting Gallery or Town Shooting Gallery. When I first played in 2006, the Swamp proved to be harder, but more recently (last year), Town was definitely the hardest.

For OoT, legitimately finding all of the golden skulltulas, no guide :)

Either that or finding all the heart pieces

I have to go with the Town Shooting Gallery in MM as well. It took me a couple of hours of practice before i managed to get a perfect score. The reward was the final heart piece, so it was well worth the effort.
