If I don't like the word "kawaii" Imma avoid people that say, and when I encounter those who do say it, I won't like it. Now, a whole group of people who act a certain way tend to always use that word. We termed them weeaboos. Since a group of people tend to say a word I dislike, I will not like that group. I won't hurt them, I won't persecute them, I just won't like them. Will I spray them with a hose? No. Will I not sell them pocky? No. Grouping objects by similar characteristics is a part of life and a part of science - you can't deny that. When we see a duck, we assume they were once chicks, have feathers, have bills/beaks, float and swim on water, and are warm blooded. Some people hate ducks, but let them live their petty lives. And maybe some go duck hunting. You may be letting the "weaboos" live their lives, but others don't. Some girls I know are "weaboos." I've seen other girls pick on them for being themselves. This certainly bothers me, but stereotyping in general is what pisses me off most.

I don't understand how you can accept stereotyping as okay- you don't act on it, but others do. Stereotyping doesn't always end up with hosing and physical attacks. Subtle things happen. I am smart and Chinese. Understand that stereotypes about the kind of person I am has had very obvious effects. It's nearly impossible for me to make friends with anyone who isn't Asian- they assume that I'm snotty and pretentious even though I am actually very nice (you'll have to take my word for that).

I'm assuming everyone can sympathize with being hurt by some kind of stereotyping. If there was anything I had to choose to be angry at you for, it's that you seem to think stereotyping is okay.

I'm just gonna throw this out there - I'm Viet and I pretty much fit the asian stereotype - I got a bunch of storage bags of rice at home, I eat rice everyday, I love math and win at it, I do martial arts (jiu jitsu), I play video games, absolutely NO SHOES in mah house, etc. If anyone else knows any asian stereotypes, throw'em out there, cause I will most likely fit it. It doesn't offend me cause it's mostly true anyway
