not all girls are like this, but what you are refering to happens because women's brains are 35% more active than a man's on average. the instant they see you (or me or most other guys) looking, or even when we compliment them, they think of a multitude of things at the same time, at a speed that supasses male understanding.
E.G. you look. her: *oh that guy's looking at me he's kinda cute. (or *he said I look good!* or whatever) of course this skirt is really short and my cleavage is showing... he just wants me for sex! WHAT A PIG! I hate him!!!!*

something I've learned is that a lot of guys treat girls as if they're prizes to be won @ the end of a race. They are not. the girls that are most worth meeting and having a relationship with (friendship or more) are the ones who want to be treated like they're human, not a slab of beef that you get to bone.
