Legend of Zelda What if Nintendo made OoT, MM, and WW with TP graphics and controls for the Wii?

I've seen terrible voice acting before, too. I watched an AVGN review (I can't remember what it was) in which he played space-themed shooter (sort of like Star Fox), and every time you hit an obstacle, a strange, green, alien-like woman's head would appear and say "Where did you learn to fly?" I couldn't stop laughing to save my life.

I'm hoping with Zelda, they couldn't screw up voice acting that bad, though... The CDi games are an exception.

if u guys want increased difficulty for OOT or MM or any Zelda game just don't pick up heart pieces and containers and dont get any upgrades. It's fun. (Cept for Great Bay Temple in MM, ****'s ********.)

And you can't get a little richer without it being written that only Link can defeat Ganon!
Yeah!

Punishment!? We'll talk about punishment...

But seriously, every game should be played with Wind Waker's graphics. This way, it would be a little harder to take the game seriously.

Yes that would be a brilliant idea for a forum game! "You can't have x without y!" Or, you could make it CD-i specific.

You can't have COME BACK WHEN YOU'RE A LITTLE... MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM ...RICHER! without I'm SO HUNGRY, i COULD EAT AN OCTOROK!

Edit: Oh darn Mewter posted while I was posting...

But yes Mewter I agree. More games need to be like WW. I think a lot of games in general are too serious. Zelda generally doesn't have that problem (look at ST, PH, and other toon games).

Not to sound assish, guys, but there is this awesome place called the CD-i Zelda Discussion Thread... :ohwell:

I find it sad that people wouldn't take WW seriously just because of the graphics. :ohwell:

I take Wind Waker very seriously, Clownbot. When I say Wind Waker graphics, I mean Twilight Princess should be replaced with chibi-like celshaded people. I think it would just be funny.
People would still probably take it just as seriously, though.

Oh, I don't doubt it. It's just that it wasn't popular with some people just because they found the graphics more childish than most LoZ games'. :ohwell:

I actually would like the idea of OoT/MM with updated graphics. The originals were still beautiful compared to games of their time, even though they were just as advanced (or un-advanced :ohwell:), but newer graphics would only give the games more liveliness.

So we want Majora's Mask to be even more terrifying. Gotcha.

Honestly though, I would never consider buying this idea. I personally didn't like Twilight Princess' controls as much as the GameCube controls, and graphics alone are not worth a purchase..

Hmm... I still liked being able to aim with the Wiimote. Trying to aim with the GCN controls isn't too bad, either, but I still think Wiimote controls would be nice. Aiming with the N64 control stick was not very responsive, so an upgrade to Wiimote would be amazing. Plus, it would add a new dimension to the game. However, I can understand your thoughts about Wiimote controls - there seems to be a delay on the sword swinging, for one thing.

And I think Majora's Mask would be 100% more convincing with better graphics. It was pretty scary back then, but it could be done even better with a few updates. Imagine the beautiful landscape of the inside of the moon, done in crisp WW or TP graphics!

I wouldn't play them, because I hate the Wii remote, and wouldn't pay $59.99 for a zelda George Lucasification.

I think the delay could be fixed with motion plus, or simply better wii-remote control.

Wow, now I realize how awesome it would be if OoT and MM were remade. In MM, the creepy parts could be even creepier, and in OoT, the epic parts could be even more epic. If this were to happen, an empty part of my life would be fulfilled! :bee:

I actually wouldn't mind WW w/ Wii controls 'cuz I like pointing with the bow and clawshot. (or hookshot in WW)

But please, don't mess with the classic graphics from the N64 (unless it's done like in the texture pack thread).

Now, if they can just edit out the Miniblins from WW........

Hey, if I can successfully mess with OoT's graphics, imagine what the creators of OoT can do...
Yeah, but I'm saying that you made the changes as to not ruin the nostalgia that comes with an epic game such as OoT!

The changes, especially with the text, are certainly welcome! ;)

If they remade OoT, do you think they would change some mechanics, like sword attacks on horseback? That would be epic if they somehow integrated it and made it useful in the game!

By the way - I wouldn't be too surprised if Nintendo made a New Play Control Wind Waker.

I highly doubt it, I don't think they will touch any game of the Zelda series unless they plan on porting it to the DS. They aren't complete morons, Miyamoto would never design a new play Zelda, EVER!!!

What the hell kind of assertion is this? You do realize that Nintendo would make even MORE money if they rereleased WW with Wii (TP) controls and potentially altered/added content, right?

Well, you know, Miyamoto allowed the making of Pikmin with new controls, and plus, it would be a huge money maker for Nintendo. Since I don't own Wind Waker, I would buy it. And, Nintendo loves to milk games for what they're worth (look at LttP for GBA and Super Mario All-Stars and Super Mario Advance Series, not to mention the new Metroid Prime Trilogy). I know you may be thinking that I might be biased since I don't own WW and never finished the game, but why not remake a game as popular as Zelda: WW with new play control? Not only would it be easy to pull off (remapping controls shouldn't be too hard - even easier having TP as a reference), fans would eat it up.

WW with improved resolution or something would be nice as it is, the game has this weird thing going on where anything further away than like 20ft is like insanely blurry and it's obnoxious as hell.

Up and down the produce aisle!
Just as long as they dont go the way the Final Fantasy guys went with FF7, then I dont really care what they do with Zelda.

But it would kill OoT to have the graphics of TP... but then again, thats just my opinion.

Yes, and I can see where you're coming from, but I think OoT would be better with at least some improved textures. Graphics were fine at the time, but the textures got really blurry when viewed up close or even at a fairly normal distance.

There is precedence for porting Zelda games with added content, as shown by ALttP being ported to the GBA with a new dungeon, I think, as well as Four Swords. I could see them adding small things to WW if they did this, like adding a purpose to the islands in the shapes of constellations or something.

MM would be cool but I don't think WW needs it and I think OoT has been so overexposed (in a good way) that it really doesn't need it.

I think, meaning it is only my opinion.

A retexture of WW would be a horrible Idea, the game was made like that for a reason, to make it feel a light hearted even though the story is quite saddening. If they made WW with the TP graphics, then they have defeated the purpose of the original.

OoT has been overexposed.

I would like to see a MM sequel, or something that involves the mask maybe this new Zelda will have something to do with it, I mean he didn't have the Master Sword in the picture.

WW Ganondorf was the best Ganondorf of the series. Both appearance-wise and character-wise.

No thanks. Maybe an upgrade of OoT, but I think it's gravy as-is

That's how all highly dedicated OoT fans feel. OoT is my favorite, but I'm hooked every time I play a new Zelda game.
