When it gets to the point that everyone in a tourney is playing only MK, then it's time to talk bans. I've been to enough where people were playing all sorts of characters that it's not time to bring out the ban-hammer yet.

What are you talking about? US? Japan? Europe? Worldwide? If any of the first three did so, Sakurai would probably get rather worried, and another of those three would follow soon enough, with the third nearly immediately afterward. If it was the US, Zelda and I would do a jig and consider checking some Brawl tournament listings in my region despite my mantra of anathematizing the game altogether.

Unrelated but, chaos and neon are the same person. Every thread one of them posts in so does the other and they always talk and agree with each other. If he got banned, i'd just pick up marth or DDD ad my new main and continue to enjoy the game, playing metaknight with friends or at college hosted tourneys where the only rules are "no items, no banned stages"
Sure i'd be a little pissed that a bunch of crying kids or otherwise got my favorite character removed from competitive play, but at the same time SBR knows what they are doing, and they do what they do for a reason. Not like it would be the end of the world.

second part of this is true, snake would suddenly make huge advancement much like MK did fairly recently, and then everyone would cry about how unfair he was and demand the ban on him. people will never have less to complain about because the people who complain the most are simply doing so because they enjoy complaining. yes MK is ridiculous, no, banning him is not going to make the situation any better, the balance in brawl is horribly shoddy and can not be repaired by banning one, or ever two or three characters, it is pointless to even try, all you can do is lament that the game was delayed so they could add more pointless one player filler that no one cares about a month after the game is released anyway rather than gameplay tweaks that would have made the game infinitely less frustrating. smash bros is a mixture of fanservice and fighting, the fanservice doesn't mean much when half of your favorite characters are absolute crap.</rant>

Snake wouldn't dominate, he's even with the Kongs, Lucario, Pikachu, maybe others which I don't remember right now, King Dedede beats him, and I think he's even with Wario too...
But I still say banning a character is ridiculous. MK is cool. There's a better solution, which I won't share anymore because I get flamed to no end. If people are going to keep complaining about Brawl, they should play a better game.

People keep thinking there would be a power vaccume and snak would rise to meta's position, TKD said my thoughts on the subject half-way. Snake has enough bad/neutrals to keep him from pulling of what Meta has. The other thing is not everyone would go to snake, just look at the posts in here. People would also go to Marth Falco D3 Wario Pika and other high tiers, further keeping snake from dominating tournies.
But really, not matter what happens in the future, it's too soon to tell now if Meta should be banned for the sake of the metagame of other characters, and variety in the tourney scene. We'll have to wait to see if meta is good enough to keep his lead, and that's what will determine if a real discussion about a ban would begin.
