Smash Champion
for crews, I have an idea.
3-5 good Melee players will become the crew captain. Preferable separated by region.
The crew captains invite BRAWL players to join their crew. The Brawl players must be bad at melee. These crews are not allowed to have any melee players!
The crew captains must be willing to travel to the brawl players' location and train them up. After a few months of training, the crews will fight each other.
Why this should work:
imo, in this point in melee's history, we need something new and fresh. Something to get us excited about because none of us know what to expect. If we make crews with -established- melee players, all of us already know what's going to happen! That gets stale.
If any of you have read Chillin's blog, you would know that crews back then were mad hype because no one was established. Anyone could've been the best back then. Everyone wanted the claim of best crew, so they worked for it. I think if we asked all the Brawl players if they would be willing to join a Melee crew, and then trained them, I think we can get a similar effect.
Hopefully these newly recruited brawl players will become melee tournament competitors as well.
I still don't completely see how this will revive the "old" melee scene, but I think if the community gained 15-20 new members, it would create a good short term effect for everyone.
