Let me start off by saying this I DO NOT WANT THIS BLOG TO TURN INTO A WHICH GAME IS BETTER THAT IS NOT WHAT THIS BLOG IS ABOUT.

Any way I just wish to try to get a feel for public option as to what the liked about the three games. For everyone reading this sentence I ask you three questions.

What Did SSB64 got right, what quality in it would you like to see again in a future SSB game?

What Did SSBM got right, what quality in it would you like to see again in a future SSB game?

What Did SSBB got right, what quality in it would you like to see again in a future SSB game?

Anyway I am just asking what you liked please do not post what you did not like, save that for a different blog.

SSB64 was more of a fun, casual game. Items were even fun in that game, but most of the time, just a 5 stock no item match was all I need to have fun with it.

SSBM is more of a serious game imo. You need more technical skill, and even though I felt I was better at Melee, I'd have to say I enjoyed it the least.

SSBB was a mix of both. I'd never go to a SSB64 tourney, and I don't really mess around when it comes to Melee, but Brawl is a serious game that I can have a lot of fun with, even when I do play as MK.

^ohmygod this completely describes my feelings for the 3 smash games.

64 was fun, like VERY fun, because you start out oblivous and new to the game's mechanics. There, you would have casual matches, and learn about the hidden techniques you've never heard of.

Melee became more technical, but still just as fun. You'd have to do alot of DI and ATs alot of times in this game.

Brawl's both fun, but not as technical as Melee. The lack of seriousness made this game fun IMO. DI and ATs are still required to do, but idunno, it seems more fun than melee.

I like all 3 games a lot they are all fun in their own way

Smash 64 had the best balance, however there was less characters and less diversity, even still, it feels like more effort was put into balancing this game. Also of course, hyrule temple, best smash stage to this day.

Melee had the right amount of hitstun IMO, and i like the tech skill in this game, gives you something to always improve and work on

Brawl is the most fun to mess around with imo, and i like the amount of characters and the huge diversity of playstyles in this game. I also like the buffer system even though a lot of people don't

SSB64 had the most balanced roster, most hitstun, board the platforms, and the best songs made exclusively for a SSB title. (Master Hand battle, Metal Mario, Fighting Polygon Team, etc.)

SSBM had the best music remixes, item roster, and physics, the voice samples were the best also, even if most were ripped from other games (which is the reason I like it). The adventure mode was great also, as was all-star mode and the pokemon roster.

SSBB Had the best music roster, largest variety in it's character roster and most varied stage roster, plus wifi, and also it had the SSE which is like a completely different game added on.

SSB64- I like it's tier list.
SSBM- It's pace is way faster than the other 2 games, making this game revolve around fast combo moves. I like combo moves.
SSBB- I like the addition of the Final Smashes. They look cool. I also like how third party characters are in this game- Sonic and Snake.

SSB64- The characters were familiar, you didn't have to Google anyone to know who they were, board the platforms, arcade feel.
SSBM- Took on a more serious role, brought in new characters, adventure mode, various items, music was great
SSBB- Brought back the laid-back feel, wide variety of characters, SSE, Stage Builder.

well,

SSB64= in one word beautifull, the game was perfect and came in the right time at N64 give that system a new breath. the game was good for many reasons

1) the character roster: something totaly new, select your favorite nintendo character and defeat all yours opponents, that was a strong card in SSB64, i mean many people made his/her dream true seeing how his/her favorite character **** the others.

2) the items: the variety of items was cool, those things was very funny an a pain in the head sometimes( yes , when the crate or the capsule explode), special mention to pokeballs and beam sword

3)stages and others modes of games: simply awesome. the perfect smash to start you n00b trayetory in smash, the stages was fun but ussefull to get a serious match. the others mode like BT and BP was very, very funny

conclusion: a great game, perfect, how i said before, to start you n00b trayectory for smash

SSBM: this game is so complete, AT's everywhere!!!!!, that game was the start for many smashers to the competitive play

1)Character roster: a notable increase in the number of characters, sadly, very much clones , fox-falco/ Link-YLink/ mario-Dr mario/ and the most ridiculous C. falcon- ganondorf, i mean WTF!!!, that characters are for a totaly diferent saga, oh well, stupid sakurai.

2)stages: a increase in stages, also some special stages like big blue, Kraid, or the temple give a new vsion of smash

3)items an others modes: pretty nice usefull to get fun and forget the tournaments for a while

Conclusion: a special smash than give all of us a new vision of that game

SSBB: this game is pretty fun , and have many things to become this game wonderfull

1) Character roster: again, an increase of the playable characters, but this time , something get wrong... metaknight

2)stages: well, to be honest, i dont liked the stages of this smash, i mean mario bros, 75 mt, new pork city, flat zone 2, for example, are a very pathetics stages, boring, ridiculous big and with specials to powerfull or annoyning. thanks of god, exist FD, BF or SV, and the rest of the counter picks

3)items and modes: WOW!!!!! the final smash, a unic mfinish move, wow amazing!!!!.... wait...

you can dodge the triforce slash, and the mario finale, but not the tank or wario man?????

that was VERY STUPID the final smash was very unbalanced, make them imposible to use in a match

about the modes, well, are great, in special the adventure mode and the boss battles.

conclusion: a good smash but lose a little his "competitive" essence, with the stupid triping, man that is stupid!!!

But at least , all of this games are smash, enought reason to love it

I like and play Super Smash Brothers 64 because of online play, the insane combos you can pull off and the balance between characters.

I like and play Super Smash Brothers Melee because of it's technical depth, nostalgia, and all of the added characters/stages/etc... from 64.

I like and play Super Smash Brothers Brawl because of the larger competitive scene in my state, and all of the added characters/stages/etc... from Melee.

SSB64 was really fun, balanced character and original stage. And I was always ****** my friends.

SSBM was fun, but the character was less balanced, the stage was original and was fun with friends. And I was always ****** my friends.

SSBB was my favorite and I think is much funner that the other two. Plus because of the online I have aim for competitive level. I think that Brawl character are more balanced that Melee character, exepte for one character, the c*ck s*cker Meta Knight. And I still ****** my friend.

64: Was an instant classic. I didn't play smash competitively at the time, so I didn't really worry about balancing stuff.

Melee: Best game ever. The speed in this game was amazing, so fast paced it was fun for party play and competitiveness. The Hitstun in the game made it so fun, along with all the ATs.

Brawl: Graphics are what I enjoy the most about this game. Not to say the graphics are revolutionary but they are nice. The lack of tech skill along with lack of combos really grinds my gears though lol.

64- Karatechu, tornado shenanigans, and an overall sense of awesomeness =w=

Melee: Pretty awesome!!! Really competitive, fast paced, and tech skills =w=
Oh and Gravity Defying Chu=Awesomeness

Brawl: Meh, pretty much all shenanigans for me here, not really competitive, but a free for all with soccerballs only on final D is pretty friggin awesome :3

there seems to be lots of newcomers posting on this thread, so i might as well join in

Smash 64 was simple, but probably the funnest. there wasnt an overload of items, the characters were overall pretty diverse in their characteristics. the tiers were most accurate on that game (well, there were only 12 characters...), though unlike the other 2 games, its just for fun, and not really supposed to be taken too seriously. fox held the only reflector (ness had pk magnet though) and kirby destroyed everything with cheap smash moves and an insanely powerful rock attack

Melee was where complex strategies came in, and it got alot more serious. there were more than double the previous amount of characters, and the story mode was fun (compared to the SSE of brawl). however, the game was VERY fastpaced, which some may like, while i do not, and alot of the glitches made the characters really unbalanced.

Brawl became slightly repetitive in doing classic mode, allstar, and boss battles for every single character. the items were too vast, and somewhat annoying, so i kept them off even in casual playing. final smashes were a good addition. the game pace slowed immensely, much to my liking, and characters seemingly became alot more balanced. this called for more strategy than in melee, because the playing field became much more equal (MINUS MK!). the 37 characters gave players a good amount of variety, and with more balance, a lot more characters were tournament material. brawl is probably, however, the hardest of the 3 to become good at, because its game physics removed alot of glitches, its lower speed doesnt require as keen of an eye nor the sharp reflexes of melee. and its hard to discover all of the hidden techniques and tricks on your own (like DACUS and Snake-Dashing). it is, however, my favorite of the 3

Hey, look I want this thread to be about people stating there opinions about the three games not argueing which is better and/or harder. If that is his/her opinion then it is his/her opinion I just want this to be a friendly blog and not a debate blog.

SSB64: I didn't know what to expect. I just wanted to make the different characters fight against each other. It was something fun to play with my family. :p

SSBM: I love the amount of tech skill and I still play it to this day.

SSBB: I love how you can hack the game and the graphics are amazing. And I love the Brawl tourney scene in general. <3

64: There was none of the funny random business in some moves that appeared in future titles. In a sense, the movesets were serious without losing their charm.

Characters: The roster was simple and, aside from the inclusion of Yoshi and Jigglypuff, felt like it could easily be the Nintendo half in a Vs. title.

Items: Aside from feeling the Bomb was overpowered, I was happy with them.

Stages: Probably my favorites overall save for Saffron City's towers screwing Ness over. The stages really felt like parts of their game sources.

Melee: Felt like a big improvement over 64 in general aside from L-Canceling and moves like Peach's turnips.

Characters: Felt like a solid expansion minus the clones. Still haven't gotten over Ganondorf.

Items: Same as 64.

Stages: Fine for the most part. Was nice to finally have a purely flat stage.

Brawl: I felt this was a big step back in general. It got rid of L-Canceling, but the pace of the game was drastically reduced. Then there was a lack of concern in pre-empting balance issues and still using port priority.

Characters: Didn't really feel all that surprised, even with the leaks. Not only that, but I found it odd that some characters were included (R.O.B.) and others weren't (Ridley, Krystal).

Items: BROKEN! That said, Pokeballs felt really nerfed.

Stages: This is where I think the designs were going down in quality. Some of these, like Norfair, didn't feel really faithful to their original locations.

What Did SSB64 got right, what quality in it would you like to see again in a future SSB game?

Combo's, grabs were too powerful though mostly, and links recovery could've been better. Needs better online

What Did SSBM got right, what quality in it would you like to see again in a future SSB game?

Everything except some chars being a little sub par aka tier list, 64 really didn't have that issue. Needs MUCH better online

What Did SSBB got right, what quality in it would you like to see again in a future SSB game?

Graphics. Needs technical skill, I would like to see these graphics, with a combination of 64 and melee only, with near lagless online, and leaderboards, etc. Online tourneys would be completely awesome.
